It has been suggested by others that 9/11 provided a rare opportunity to study the lack of contrails. Once examined, the scientist claimed a full degree C of rise in differential day/night temperature for the period after the 9/11 ground stop order and 9/14 when traffic resumed.

I tried to find statistics on actual flights for the period 9/11-9/14 but the BTS agency said they only have monthly data.

Where can I find the daily flight stats for SEP 2001?

Assistance greatly appreciated.

My initial impression was that this is highly suspect. Why would temps rise so dramatically? The particulate from 9/10 and before would certainly still be in the atmosphere on 9/11-14.
