This brilliant Canadian journalist has had the balls over the years to say exactly what is on his mind, no matter what the subject.
He has been stationed in the U.S. for a number of years and therefore has covered import international stories concerning America. In this piece Macdonald holds no punches as he lays bare the U.S.’s hypocrisy vis a vis Saudi Arabia: its 9/11 connection and the blind eye it turns towards the Saudi’s poor human rights record. No American journalist would have the nerve to write a piece like this. MacDonald's CBC News article |

QUOTE No American journalist would have the nerve to write a piece like this. Actually, there are quite a few American journalists/academics/concerned citizens who do tell the truth, Mike. William Blum, Noam Chomsky, John Stockwell, Michael Parenti, Oliver Stone, Ramsey Clark, ... . They, and others, have described thee nation which has, since its own terrorist beginnings, been the largest terrorist/war criminal group on the planet. All this hidden behind the biggest lie ever, the USA as a saviour of the oppressed, a beacon of freedom. Just look at history. The US has established dictators in every country that it has the power to bully. The list is long, all of Central and South America, the Philippines, Korea, tried it in Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, Cambodia, African nations, ... . |

Perhaps I should have said: "No American journalist would have the nerve to write a piece like this for a major American mainstream news media outlet and then have them publish it on their front page." |
