I believe it has been well documented that a number of survivors near the impact area at the Pentagon reported smelling chordite.
Those anecdotal observations should be considered in the light of a recent study on scent, danger, and memory which was widely reported in the press. Just to keep it fair and balanced, here's a link to an article about the study from Fox News: QUOTE ...MRI scans showed the improvement was more than coincidence. There were changes in how the brain's main olfactory region stored the odor information, essentially better imprinting the shock-linked scent so it could be distinguished more quickly from a similar odor. In other words, the brain seems to have a mechanism to sniff out threats. That almost is certainly a survival trait evolved to help humans rapidly and subconsciously pick a dangerous odor from the sea of scents constantly surrounding us, Li said. Today, that might mean someone who has been through a kitchen fire can tell immediately if a whiff of smoke has that greasy undertone or simply comes from the fireplace. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,342614,00.html If I understand the study correctly, anyone who has ever smelled chordite during a time of stress or danger is highly likely to be able to clearly distinguish it again, especially in another time of stress and danger. If professional military personal at the Pentagon said they smelled chordite, new scientific research says they most certainly did. |

For UA93, USAF 84 RADES data shows:
Mode C altitude of 98,000 feet, 8:56:02 EDT, 40.6774 N -75.722 W, DAN radar site Mode C altitude of -99,900 feet, 9:01:26 EDT, 40.7107 N -76.5714 W, OCA radar site PLA site shows Mode C altitude of 0 feet at 8:53:42 and 8:56:05 EDT (as does REM site at 8:53:35 EDT). Also for a "UAL93", FAA tells us that it landed at Reagan National DCA at 10:28 EDT on Sep. 11, 2001. See posts #78-87 at:

On UA175 USAF 84 RADES data, and the FAA TCDS A1NM documented B767-200 Vmo of 360 kts (KCAS) / 0.86 Mmo,
"I found 15 "interval" velocities over 0.86M, 6 velocities over the presumed 0.91M "flight test" limit, and 3 over 1.0M." Post #6 http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum//index....&p=10742683 http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum//index.php?showtopic=21 |

According to the USAF 84 RADES data, AA11 actually had more of the "questionable velocity" intervals calculated in/by my spreadsheets than UA175 did:
"I found 27 'interval' velocities over 0.86M, 14 velocities over the presumed 0.91M flight test limit, and 5 velocities over 1.0M" http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum//index....showtopic=13143 Is WTC1/2 "impact velocity vs. steel" really the big question to be discussed? |
