Topic Introduction
 Pretty smart guy --- former professor at both Harvard and at Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS - where Paul Wofowitz also taught), an influential member of the Council on Foreign Relations which he led as Director from 1972-75, co-founder of the Trilateral Commission, advisor to four US Presidents, author of numerous influential books on geo-politics ("The Grand Chessboard", "Between Two Ages", "The Choice: Global Domination or Global Leadership" among them), and, as Jimmy Carter's National Security Advisor, the self-professed initiator of the Soviet-Afghan War. And, he's got his feet pretty entwined in the roots of the US War on Terror. A truly enigmatic figure, Brzezinski is a close confident of David Rockefeller. His true intentions with regard to his warnings about an emerging Islamic threat in the early 90's are clouded by his participation in the creation of that supposed threat and his close ties to the global elite, his recent comments highly critical of the Bush administration may reflect a widening rift between the established elite, represented by people like himself and the Rockefeller family, and the Cheney/Neoconservative cabal. The implications may prove to be earth shattering. |
