It is quite non-descript- no take off time, aircraft type "other," landing about 30 minutes after the Pentagon "incidents."

Unique FAA Index: 198044

At this page, I now find AA 568 being an M80 out of Chicago O'Hare (ORD) for Fort. Lauderdale (FLL) Mon-Sun:

And back in Jan 2007, American 568 was from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Boston Logan (BOS):

http://www.boston.com/news/local/articles/..._officials_say/

"Plane lands safely after brief emergency
Logan International Airport officials summoned fire and rescue crews to a runway where an American Airlines Boeing 757 from San Juan was due to land last night, but the emergency ended and the crews were called back before the plane landed. Massachusetts Port Authority officials, who operate the airport, released little information about the circumstances of the emergency. "This isn't unusual," said spokesman Richard Walsh. He said the captain of American Airlines flight 568 alerted airport officials about a problem with the rudder of the plane, then later reported that the plane was flying normally. Walsh said 191 passengers were on the flight. The plane landed without incident at 9:51 p.m., less than 15 minutes after its scheduled arrival time. Officials at American Airlines could not be reached for comment."

Did not find anything for Sep. 2001 though.

So what you're saying dMole, is that FAA records indicate some American flight, origin unknown, landed at DCA at 10:15?

If that's the case, that could be 77.

Well 10:13 EDT Arrival at DCA actually amazed, and it does show "Departing" Dallas Ft. Worth (DFW) at unknown time and unknown aircraft type (umm, shouldn't the Mode C squawk or FAA tracking radar system have told something there?) It definitely shows to be an American flight 568 though.

That is all dependent upon the reliability of the "Stark" spreadsheet released by the FAA per FOIA (we have been told).

Mode C should be 2331.

It looks like AA568 was scheduled to arrive at DCA but was diverted to IAD. It's transponder code was 2331 and that code is first picked up by Dulles TRACON radar at 9:47:33. dMole, the data can be found in Farmer's FAA radar data workbook.

AA568 can also be heard talking to Dulles Approach at 1:01:49 in this audio recording.

Mode C should be 2331.

I found 2 planes squawking "2331" on Mode 3/A in the "big" RADES data file. One left the Newark/Manhattan area heading northwesterly, and the other appears to have landed at Dulles after some "circling." There were other singular? reinforced (green) "2331 echoes" over Wisconsin, Connecticut, and the Delaware/New Jersey area, in addition to several "2331" beacon returns (red) in various locations.

Here is an image of the RADES data for that "2331" Mode3/A.
