Greed Conquers Guilt Options

What has devastated the US and global economy? The simplest explanation is unrestrained personal greed. People everywhere have had no reservations about abusing business practices, ethics, laws and cultural norms because all they cared about was amassing personal wealth. Most have also betrayed family members, friends, employers or clients. Greed is an ungodly sin that drives desires, ambitions and behavior. Greed pollutes civilization.

Greed is not a bad thing - it drives Capitalism. Normally, in a sane world, it is countered by the fear of loss or bankruptcy, moderating factors which have been removed from the equation by socialistic regulations and guarantees in the US over recent decades.

Greed, in this case, was expropriated on a giant scale, knowingly, by very smart people, to inflate and crash the US economic system.

Greed isn't bad per se, it's just vulnerable to exploitation.

The founders had a much better idea IMO - harness it to build a nation.

(Obviously the uber-rich getting control over the US Government and writing laws to protect themselves and quash their competition throws the whole thing out of whack - and what we wind up with is not capitalism, but fascism ... that's where we are. I have no patience for criticism of capitalism or "greed", when what we are suffering from is something completely different. Yes, the capitalists in control are greedy, but the problem is not capitalism or greed - it's fascism - corporations in bed with government... a little actual CAPITALISM would FIX the problem.)
