Subway info

Vesey Street was in front of WTC7 and Broadway was on the East side

The 1 Broadway…Seventh Avenue Local

After September 11, 2001, The '1' train had to be rerouted since the IRT Broadway – Seventh Avenue Line ran directly under the World Trade Center site and was heavily damaged in the collapse of the Twin Towers.

The IRT Broadway – Seventh Avenue Line, which ran below the World Trade Center between Chambers Street and Rector Street was the most crippled.

BMT Broadway Line

The line is named for its location under Broadway between Vesey Street and Seventh Avenue (Times Square). It also passes under Vesey Street, Whitehall Street, Trinity Place, and Church Street in Lower Manhattan, and Seventh Avenue, 59th Street, and 60th Street in Midtown.

Service on the BMT Broadway Line was also disrupted because the tracks from the Montague Street Tunnel run adjacent to the World Trade Center and there were concerns that train movements could cause unsafe settling of the debris pile.

PATH Port Authority Trans-Hudson

The PATH station at World Trade Center was heavily damaged/destroyed. [empty by 9:10 am]

A train parked in the station was crushed by debris and was removed during the excavation process in January 2002.

The ramp connected WTC 7 to the underground garage of the main complex.

The ramp was more of a drive thru for bringing goods into the WTC complex.
