Topic Introduction
What evidence led the FBI to their quick identification of the 9/11 hijackers? Well, let's try to remember... Satam Al Suqami’s passport, found in the rubble of the World Trade Center. Mohammed Atta checked two bags at Portland International Jetport in Maine that didn’t make his connection to flight 11 out of Boston and were delivered to the FBI. In them were found flight simulator manuals, a handheld flight computer, a videotape about the Boeing 757, a chart-plotting slide rule, a copy of the Koran, a letter of recommendation and some education related documents, a suit, his will, and a 5 page letter to the other terrorists. A copy of the letter was left behind by one of the other terrorists in his apartment and another copy was found in the debris of the flight 93 crash site in Pennsylvania. A farewell letter sent by Ziad Jarrahi to his Turkish girlfriend of several years on the eve of the attacks. He apparently made a mistake when he filled out the German address and the package was returned and passed on to the FBI. A fragment of Ziad Jarrah’s passport photo, discovered at the crash site of flight 93. Arab language flight training manuals found in a rented car left at Logan Airport. Authorities were led to the car by an unidentified man who said he had gotten into an argument with several Arab men as they were parking their cars. Boeing 757 manuals, martial arts books, a stack of east coast flight maps, an airplane fuel tester, a protractor and other items found in Marwan Al-Shehhi’s hotel room in Deerfield Beach, Florida. A copy of the Koran left at a strip club in Daytona Beach, Florida. The club manager said three Arab men “spewed anti-American sentiments” in the bar saying, “Wait till tomorrow, America is going to see bloodshed!”. The men paid for their lap dances by credit card and the club later turned the receipts, photocopies of their driver’s licenses and the forgotten Koran over to the FBI. Why would anyone think that any of this evidence might have been planted? Maybe because it's hard to believe that Muslims devout enough to sacrifice their lives for Allah would visit a strip club toting their Koran. Maybe because it makes no sense to pack your will on a suicide flight. Maybe because none of the hijacker's names were on any of the passenger manifests. Maybe because many of the hijackers are reportedly still alive. Would you believe someone who told you that the passport of a hijacker flew out of his pocket in the midst of the North Tower inferno and floated down to the street intact? That account has been modified over time--and now may change again. NEWSWEEK has learned that one of the bureau's informants had a close relationship with two of the hijackers: he was their roommate. The connection, just discovered by congressional investigators, has stunned some top counterterrorism officials and raised new concerns about the information-sharing among U.S. law-enforcement and intelligence agencies. The two hijackers, Khalid Almihdhar and Nawaf Alhazmi, were hardly unknown to the intelligence community. The CIA was first alerted to them in January 2000, when the two Saudi nationals showed up at a Qaeda "summit" in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. http://www.truthout.org/docs_02/09.13A.newk.infrmt.htmSenator Bob Graham Said Two 9/11 Hijackers had Direct Ties to Saudi Intelligence 9/11 Blogger, February 6 2007 @ Prison Planet courtesy, Sinewy http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/febru...07Hijackers.htm Alhazmi and Almihdhar: The 9/11 Hijackers Who Sould Have Been Caught by Paul Thompson Article the author of the Complete 9/11 Timeline http://s3.amazonaws.com/911timeline/main/e...idandnawaf.html |

CNN Interview with Tcket Agent Michael Touhey Touhey reportedly checked in Atta This is significant for the fact that the ticket agent described Atta and Al-Omari as wearing ties and jackets.
