My appologies if this has been posted - I looked for a similar topic and didn't spot it - Anyway - Its quite obvious from the testimony of Craig's eye witnesses (let alone the albeit shakey) FDR data - altimiter still set to 29.92 - that AA77 overflew the Pentagon. The question continues to burn in my brain -
How do you hide a big reflective nasty radar target from skin painting a radar? The one in particular that I'm wondering about is the SSR traffic control radar at National.
Would it have picked up a skin paint if AA77 were at 500-700 feet AGL? I'm looking at the Raytheon specs for SSR radars and trying to determine what the minimum angle might be at the Pentagon's distance from the antenna.
If Nationals SSR data were available could we get it under FOIA - and if we got it, what assurance would we have that it was accurate and untampered with?

What flight path might it have logically taken after overflying, that would be least populated? And, although traumatized by the events of that morning, could we pursue locating possible witnesses to a low fly over of a large jet after overflying the Pentagon - We know from witnesses that people on the back side of the building saw a large aircraft (the loading dock (south? side of the building?))

Can we extend that flight path our from that position, and where does it take it - how soon would it have to turn and to what course to ensure lowest population before it could be ditched? Does it line up with a short final approach to a federal installation (i.e. Airforce base?)

Again, not looking to lay blame, but rather keeping it, just like ol' Sgt. Friday, to the facts maa'm just the facts.

Easiest thing to do would have been to land at Reagan National Airport. The flight path lined up just right with one of their runways. Since the National Air Stop had been issued, planes were landing all over the place, so who would notice one more?

Just file the FOIA and we can see what happens from there.

              Hi Senior Trend,

I'm the other half of CIT. Perhaps I can help. My guess is all radar has been scrubbed. You may want to try and get a hold of Chris Stephenson who was head ATC for Reagan national airport. We've tried getting a hold of him and have been unsuccessful as he has not returned our calls I would guess that if one were to go through the proper channels and request an interview with him, you may get lucky. But my guess is they won't let him speak at least to anyone interested investigating details of the flight path. He is also a witness to the approach and he witnessed the plane over the skies of DC which is not part of the official flight path or story, so I am pretty sure he won't be able to talk about what he really saw.

As for where the plane flew after the overflight, we believe it climbed from the 50-100 ft alt witnessed by Roosevelt Roberts to an ascended altitude while banking out doing a u-turn to the mall side.

The plane did not head to Reagan national or any other military base in the area.

My personal belief is that it went to shanksville and performed the flyover our associate uncovered there.
