I KNOW THAT Killtown is disregarded by people but he made this point over on LC:

QUOTE ("Killtown")
OCTs (skeptics) say that the word "pull" when used in demo terms is slang for only meaning pulling a building down with cables.

So what's the demo slang for using explosives to demolish a building? Don't tell me there isn't one!

SO I sent out a few emails:

Hey I had a question regarding demolition Jargon - I understand "pull it" means to literally pull down the building with cables, but what is term for when a building is demolished by explosives?

Thank you, James.

Here is the first, hasty reply:

“Implosion”

I dunno, I found about 20 different references to implosions by "official type" websites which used the word pull in them before I lost interest in looking for more... maybe not "pull it", but definitely pull. It didn't have anything to do with cables, either. They were talking about CDs with explosives. I posted some of my found quotes over at the old LC forum in a thread on that subject, but I'm not sure where exactly that thread is.

Try to remember.

But about the Silverstein word... then it strike me most is... how he say it.

Especially in the end when he say "and they made that decision to pull..."

video

... I mean... he is talking about the building.

But there was a lot of things that changed 9/11... even meaning of the words.

I can't seem to find that thread, but the quotes aren't hard to replace with the same or similar ones:

QUOTE
Phase 1 continued to fall, helping to pull Phase 2 in.
Kingdome CD

QUOTE
There are a series of small explosions, but the building itself isn't erupting outward. It's actually being pulled in on top of itself.
Interview with Stacey Loizeaux
QUOTE
It provided the energy we needed to pull the columns inward," said Mark Loizeaux, president of Controlled Demolition Inc.
Perfect demolition leaves Dome a fallen souffle

QUOTE
Jack brought a basic knowledge of construction, engineering, and physics to his new science of implosion. More important, though, he brought the fascination and conviction of a true believer. Long before anyone else, he had faith in the power of explosives to help gravity do what it wants to do anyway: pull things down.
Making an Impact

QUOTE
The building implosion technique does not rely on the difference between internal and external pressure to pull the building down, but simply on the effect of gravitational pull.
building implosion from Answers.com

QUOTE
This allows gravity to pull the structure down in a controlled manner.
Olin Hall Implosion Dust Notice

QUOTE
The explosives are used to weaken and cause the supporting members of the structure to fail, thus allowing gravity to pull the structure down or over.
Dykon Blasting FAQs

QUOTE
CDI planned the implosion to pull thebuilding to the southeast and away from the inter-section of SW 9th and Mulberry Streets.
The Front Line

QUOTE
For a tall building like Pacific Palisades, the charges on the lowest floors and in the basement fire first, chopping the base from under part of the building and leaving part intact to act as a kind of hinge. The weight of the structure will begin to pull the building down in a controlled direction.
Pacific Palisades Demolition Story

QUOTE
At 11:14 A.M., the staccato report of dynamite charges reverberated down city streets and across the water. In a blink, the center section of the roof dropped earthward. Its fall began to pull the rest of the structure toward the ground as well.
Demoliton by Implosion

(That's ten from 90 results - out of 369,000. I'm going to guess there will be a few more among the similar results)

etc.

I used this search just now to get those.

This is work of man. This is a hired job. [Larry Silverstein] said it himself. You hear him saying "Pull it" down.
