As described here there will be an Impeachment Resolution this Friday July 25th.....I guess there is a rumor that Kucinich will only be given a few minutes to speak (6-7) but who knows....

I admire Kucinich. I wonder how many other good men, patriots, there are in the US Congress?

Time will tell, but my guess is very damn few.

Here are more resources on the impeachment issue:

http://impeachment.kucinich.us/

http://www.opencongress.org/bill/110-hr1345/show

http://impeachforpeace.org/ImpeachNow.html

http://www.militarytimes.com/forums/showthread.php?p=116776
"Nine Republicans have broken ranks to vote to send Rep. Dennis Kucinich's article of impeachment HR 1345 to the House Judiciary Committee, where Chairman John Conyers will hold hearings.

The Republicans are (Yea 238 - Nay 180):

Congressman Kevin Brady (TX)
Congressman Wayne Gilchrest (MD)
Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC)
Representative Don Manzullo (IL)
U.S. Congressman Tim Murphy(PA)
Congressman Ron Paul (TX)
Congressman Dave Reichert (WA)
Congressman Christopher Shays (CT)
Representative Mike Turner (OH)

One of the Republicans, Walter Jones, represents Camp LeJeune in North Carolina, one of the largest Marine bases in the country, and one which has borne heavily the sacrifice of the Iraq War.

The impeachment article focuses narrowly on administration claims that Saddam possessed WMD in the run-up to the Iraq war, and that there was a connection between Hussein and 9/11. Kucinich's article relies partly on the famous Downing Street Memo, the transcript of a gathering of the British Prime Minister's senior ministers on July 23, 2002. The DSM includes such passages as:

The facts were being fixed around the policy. Facts. Fixed. In other words, they lied.

Now over 4,100 fine young men and women are dead. The Judiciary Committee will have the opportunity to adopt the article of impeachment to send back to the House for a full House vote. Let the congressmen take a stand, and put themselves on the record for history, the cabal which buried its constitutional duty for party or politics or out of sheer weak-kneed cowardice, which is a stench next to the fiber of the Americans we lost, and those who still dart across alleys laced with machine gun fire somewhere in Iraq, in answer to the call of their country. How wrong that these courageous are not the ones making the decisions for our country.

People from around the country, of all parties, will be working all week to make this happen. If you would like to join them, please to go to the National Impeachment Network."

Sheehan statement upon ejection from House Judiciary Committee audience
July 25th, 2008

The following statement was written by Independent congressional candidate Cindy Sheehan and posted on her campaign’s official Facebook profile. Sheehan describes the circumstances that led to her removal from the gallery, and notes that though unsatisfied with the limited scope of today’s hearing, she considered it “a baby step in the right direction.”

I Urge You All To Take Action by Cindy Sheehan

I got up at 5:00 a.m. this morning so that I could get into the hearings of the House Judiciary Committee in Washington, D.C. — and I sat through the hearings. I think they should have been real impeachment hearings and not sham hearings about the abuse of executive power.

Still, I recognize it was a baby step in the right direction — and I think that our Cindy Sheehan For Congress candidacy in San Francisco was the tipping point that pushed Nancy Pelosi to say that hearings could happen.

A lot of good information was presented at the hearings, and some very strong, very incredible witnesses testified. Toward the end, when Vince Bugliosi (retired Los Angeles district attorney and author of: The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder) stated before the Committee that there should be justice for the more than 4,000 U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq, I stood up and stated loudly, “Thank you” to Mr. Bugliosi — as my son Casey was one of those soldiers who died because of lies and deception by George Bush and Dick Cheney.

Immediately, Committee Chairman John Conyers told the audience that his colleagues were urging him to take action to have me removed. I then said loudly, “I urge you all to take action.” That is when Chairman Conyers kicked me out of the hearings, saying: “Sheehan, out now!”)

Yes. We need real impeachment hearings. We need Congress to take action against Bush, Cheney and all those in the administration who lied, abused their power, and violated the precious rights enshrined in our Constitution.
