Here are two versions of Larry Silverstein's fortunes. Anybody see Lucky Larry as a hapless victim and financial loser due to 9/11?

I was checking some things and came across the Haaretz article that had a unique perspective on how 9/11 affected the tycoon.

QUOTE
On September 11, his world lay in a six-story heap of ruins. Above all, four members of his staff were killed and he himself was saved only because a meeting he had scheduled that morning with officials of the Port Authority on the 88th floor of 1 World Trade Center (the south tower) was canceled at the last minute.

....thought he had a dental appointment!?!... or did i get that wrong!?!

Did any insurance company ever pay out for the destruction of WTC 7?
I hear a lot about the insurance on the twin towers but have never ehard of
any insurance company investigation of building 7.
Presumably it was covered by insurance.

The Terrorism insurance policy for the WTC was 3.5 Billion. Silverstein argued in court that, since two aircraft hit, it was two separate terrorist incidents and therefore he should collect $7 billion. Eliot Spitzer submitted an Amicus brief in the case. The award was $4.5 Billion. Judge Mukasey presided. Cozy little group of players in 9/11, ain't it?

What do you think? If you had just bought some grossly underperforming real estate with potential due to location but you knowingly took it on with some huge asbestos liability, and it had repeatedly been turned down for controlled demolition due to likelihood of collateral damage, and six weeks later it lay in a smoldering heap under suspicious circumstances, and you had admitted to demolition of one of the buildings, do you think:
a- You would clean up double indemnity for your insurance and get your money back?
b- You would be an instant suspect in a huge arson investigation?

Would your answer differ depending on how many "connected" people you were friends with?
