Around the 33 minute mark, Former Director British SFO, Robert Wardle, in interview is talking about the kind of pressure that was brought on him to stop his investigation. This is characterized as blackmail and includes the threat that Saudi Arabia would stop cooperating, sharing "terrorist" intelligence information with the British government. Even more specifically, he is being told by authorities around him that if he does not cooperate there will be blood in the streets and that blood will be on his hands.
If one is able to read between the lines even a little bit, one sees what this blackmail really is: A direct threat of terrorism itself thinly veiled behind a cover of protection FROM terrorism. In other words what you have here is "mafia insurance" and "protection money" being exchanged. What *I* note, however, is that this terrorist threat is never made against a head of state or a person in a position of financial power directly. Note that "terrorist" targets are almost always "the little people" -- their function being to drive the collective perception of the role of "terrorism" as strikes against domestic populations by "radicals" of various stripes. This ought to be a clue for anyone paying close attention here. |
