Israeli Gun Boat Shoots At Gaza Fishermen Options

Commentary to the video:

GAZA: 1st September 2008, the first day of Ramadan, several volunteers with the Free Gaza Movement and the International Solidarity Movement accompanied a small fleet of seven fishing vessels from Gaza City port. The fishermen exercised their right to fish in Gazan territorial waters, providing them with a livelihood and food for the besieged people of Gaza. The fishing fleet reached approximately nine miles offshore and began trawling along the Gazan coast, well within international limits. Usually the Israeli Navy prevents Gazan fishing vessels from accessing beyond six miles and in many cases only three miles by attacking the boats, sometimes lethally, or by arresting the fishermen. However, this day's fishing resulted in a highly successful catch due to the ability to access richer fishing grounds further offshore.
Two Israeli Naval gunboats approached the fleet soon after leaving port and began firing "warning shots" shortly afterwards. They were aware that internationals were on some of the boats. The Israeli Navy continued shooting multiple times at the fishing vessels, one of which was fired upon at least seven times. They also deployed explosive charges in the water and attempted to de-stabilise some of the boats by creating a strong wake. Communication was established with the Israeli Navy via VHF radio, informing them that everyone onboard were unarmed civilians and requesting that the Israeli Navy stop shooting.
The volunteers will continue to join Gazan fishing expeditions on a regular basis and will monitor Israeli aggressions towards the fishermen. Video and written documentation will be posted publicly and made available to journalists. The Israeli Navy will not be informed as to when the volunteers will join the fishermen, nor the ports they will sail from, since this is not within their jurisdiction. Also no indication will be made as to which vessels have internationals onboard.

I think Israel army unfortunately does much worser things in there which should be shown on TV than just shooting into water to scare fishermen...

Regarding the USS Liberty, why should we be surprised given the treatment of fisherman, Rachel Corrie and the Palesinians? The Israelis are over-pampered, over-induldged, spolied rotten adolescents who are surrounded by religious fanatics-and 'well meaning' limosine-liberals who NEVER spank them for their murderous ways. Irael is a classic case of "spare the rod - spoil the child".

Israel is also a demonstration of what years of inbreeding begets. Interesiting how Israel and the NWO crowd wants the US to become "diverse" and mix with the world at large while Israel is an arpartie nation and behave like this. The hypocrisy!

Yes, the hypocrisy is mind-numbing. I'm suspicious of this clip though, I see multiple camera angles edited together (not exactly consistent with a spontaneous video capture), and a lot of shooting and no hits. But the underlying arrogance and intolerance Israel projects on it's enemies, both in Palestine and in the rest of the world, is very real. If they keep acting like Nazis though, their Holocaust political capital will eventually evaporate. (If only the US would just cut Israel loose... not gonna happen though unless the status quo is overturned.)

Yeah Sanders, I looked again and see a few things wrong with this video as well. For one, I hear a bullet ricochet near the beginning of this video that occured with no sound delay as one might expect becuase of the distance from the target to the camera. Is it possible this video will be 'exposed' as a hoax thereby supposedly discrediting any site that posts it? Yes, I noticed the very english accent at the end of that clip and this fits in with my thoughts.

Thank you for posting this as it settles any doubts I had, which is what prompted my cautionary, 'If this is not a BS story...' opening remark, about the authenticity of this clip and explains the different shooting angles.

More people should realise just how constrained, and worse, are the lives of Palestinians. I avoid buying any produce known to be from Israel these days, and have done for some time.
