Full-Body Scanners to Fry Travelers With Radiation
http://www.prisonplanet.com/full-body-scan...-radiation.html
QUOTE
Big winners include companies whose equipment is assisting TSA’s Advanced Technology Checkpoint Project to nudify airline passengers. Digital Security Systems of Miami is promoting its ConPass Security Body Scanner, which can perform virtual cavity searches using deeply penetrating X-radiation. Company engineer Thomas Wiggins says the scanner can detect explosives hidden inside bodies or surgically implanted under flabby folds of skin. Wiggins admits that before 9-11, “The thought of using an X-ray system would have been like ordering our own death sentence.” Now Wiggins claims that the ConPass scanner “could scan a pregnant woman around 200 times without a health risk.”

What kind of expose will the people who work with this stuff everyday be exposed to?

The TSA is so concerned about 'safety', isn't their own employees health a safety issue?

of course not -- any more than ours is

they are not interested in safety AT ALL -- what they are interested in is control, period

It's a new technology based on terahertz waves.
Radiation is classified as either ionizing or non-ionizing. Ionizing just means that radiation will strip an electron away from an atom.
It is all however radiation related by Planks constant and the frequency the radiation. The higher the frequency the more energy. Terahertz while non-ionizing lies just below the frequency of x-rays. Damage to biological tissue exposed to entire ranges of the electromagnetic spectrum is still contested. In fact outside of natural radiation much of the electromagnetic spectrum we now generate started in the early 1900s with such things as 965 Mhz cell phone frequencies everywhere is only a few years old. Are there long term effects such as tumors? How old is the cell phone.
Very profitable biz though.

Chertoff Seeks Full-Body Scanners At Airports
(Q & A)
Former Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff is pushing for full-body scanners to be installed at airports in the wake of the attempted terrorist attack aboard an airliner on Christmas Day. Chertoff is also urging investigators to look into why the alleged terrorist did not have his U.S. visa revoked after negative information about him was passed to U.S. officials...

Former homeland security chief argues for whole-body imaging
By Michael Chertoff

...During my time as secretary of homeland security, the Transportation Security Administration began working to replace the 1970s-era metal detectors used at airports across America with modern technology able to detect non-metal weapons concealed by terrorists on their bodies...

...From the onset, deployment of the machines has been vigorously opposed by some groups. In June, the House of Representatives passed a bill that would prevent the TSA from using the new systems in most cases. If the House bill were to become law, the TSA would be limited to using the new technology only after a passenger had been selected for additional scrutiny. The vast majority of passengers would still pass only through metal detectors. So, under the standards set by the House bill, a terrorist not on a "no-fly" list or a watch list mandating closer scrutiny -- like Abdulmutallab -- could probably carry a concealed non-metal weapon onto a plane undetected.

Congress should reject this restrictive bill and instead fund a large-scale deployment of next-generation systems...

blahblahblah...

...In short, the TSA has listened to the reasonable concerns of privacy advocates and incorporated numerous suggestions into its protocols to draw the right balance between security and privacy. The administration must stand firm against privacy ideologues, for whom every security measure is unacceptable. Failing to use all available tools to plug a gap in security puts the lives of airline travelers needlessly at risk.

The writer was secretary of homeland security from 2005 to 2009 and is co-founder of the Chertoff Group, a security and risk-management firm whose clients include a manufacturer of body-imaging screening machines.

Chertoff accused of abusing public trust by touting body scanners

...What he has made little mention of is that the Chertoff Group, his security consulting agency, includes a client that manufactures the machines. The relationship drew attention after Chertoff disclosed it on a CNN program Wednesday, in response to a question.

An airport passengers' rights group on Thursday criticized Chertoff, who left office less than a year ago, for using his former government credentials to advocate for a product that benefits his clients.

"Mr. Chertoff should not be allowed to abuse the trust the public has placed in him as a former public servant to privately gain from the sale of full-body scanners under the pretense that the scanners would have detected this particular type of explosive," said Kate Hanni, founder of FlyersRights.org, which opposes the use of the scanners.

"BROWN: But just, in the interest of full disclosure, I also want to point out, in your current role as a security consultant, you are representing some of the companies who manufacture that technology. Correct?

CHERTOFF: Absolutely correct, yes.

Passenger's suspicious claim diverts jet to Maine
By GLENN ADAMS, Associated Press – 30 minutes ago

BANGOR, Maine (AP) — Most passengers aboard a Paris-to-North Carolina flight that diverted to Maine said they didn't know what was going on until the plane was on the ground.

Passengers said they were informed that the Boeing 767 was landing in Maine to refuel before police took a passenger into custody. Dr. William Milam from Richmond, Va., said fellow passengers were stunned but that there was no drama.

Officials briefed on Tuesday's incident said a French passenger passed a note to a flight attendant saying she had a surgically implanted device. The FBI and Homeland Security Department warned airlines that terrorists are considering surgically hiding bombs inside humans.

Two F-15 fighters scrambled to escort Flight 787, with its 179 passengers and nine crew members, to Bangor, Maine. After a 3˝-hour delay, it continued to Charlotte, N.C.

Associated Press writers Eileen Sullivan in Washington, David Sharp and Clarke Canfield in Portland, Maine, and Denise Lavoie and Jay Lindsay in Boston contributed to this

in essence i agree with you (about being systematically degraded and watching civil liberties disappear), but i would like to point out that even though a few more tsa agents could be getting their rocks off thanks to being free to search more cavities, that alone wont help chertoff or the other scanner makers/sellers achieve more sales. thats why the specific angle of this recent "threat" - that of a surgically implanted device - is so integral to (what i suspect is) the intended objective (of this false flag mini-op). thanks directly to "incidents" like this one, for future airline "security" needs to be fully met, even cavity searches will be deemed insufficient. its hardly ironic that the feds had the "premonition" or intel that forewarned of surgically implanted explosives(?) or whatever...

of course, executing such a false flag op whereby someone was actually implanted with something would be way too risky and require way too much loot and leave too much of an evidence trail (at the very least a doctor would also have to be involved). so why bother with all that? just have a lady hand forth a note claiming as much, and you have nearly the same justification for selling more scanners.

funny how she still has no name (i checked right before posting this) and how she must have (obviously) gone on the rest of the flight without elliciting any attention whatsoever! and that the pilots were so sure that she wouldnt be a problem that they would lie to the rest of the passengers about why they diverted the plane. who knows, there may even be a lawsuit from one of the lied-to passengers, so maybe a chance at some slow (down the pike) money might even be had here... probably not, but its clear imo they are manufacturing/forcing the need for more x-ray scanners, which eventually equals selling more x-ray scanners to more airports, which equals more money. the story itself will likely fade quickly, but when budget / legislation time comes, the incident WILL BE cited as an actual and factual real threat (dont forget the two f15's intercepting the flight).
