Zap, I'm so glad I recommended you start this thread (as opposed to adding links in the Library), and so glad you acted. Great thread idea!!!
You'll find nothing about 9-11 in this book (it was written before that), but this book is about some of the players in the US political system that changed America from a Republic minding it's own business to an Emperialist state waiting for a central bank ... "First Great Triumph" by Warren Zimmerman - (about the Spanish American War). This book affected me more than any other (probably because of the importance of the time-frame it addresses). http://www.amazon.com/First-Great-Triumph-...1100&sr=8-1 |

Great book. Currently still available in online form via the Internet Archive. Old links (almost) never die, they just become harder to find... http://web.archive.org/web/20061211035919/...le/contents.htm[/url] or currently available in .pdf format @ http://sandiego.indymedia.org/media/2006/10/119974.pdf Thanks for that WD. (IMG:http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum/style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif) I note that: Tragedy & Hope: A History of the World in Our Time by Carroll Quigley, cited in the Introduction of the above, has been published. See: http://www.amazon.com/Tragedy-Hope-History...e/dp/094500110X and http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tragedy-Hope-Histo...1227&sr=8-2 often looking at both .com and .co.uk lists as the associated books can vary. The Great Deception: The Secret History of the European Union by Christopher Booker & Richard North.
ISBN-10: 082647652X ISBN-13: 978-0826476524 See: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Great-Deception-Se...d_sim_b_title_5 where you will also find a later edition, same authors, with a different subtitle The Great Deception: Can the European Union Survive? ISBN-10: 0826480144 ISBN-13: 978-0826480149 I have the first but not the second mentioned above. A classic description of how the un-elected can take control, that is by maintaining the general populace in their ignorant, bemused and pliant state. Has ramifications for issues discussed in: http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum//index....c=10598&hl= and http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum//index....ic=5503&hl= This post has been edited by Omega892R09: Apr 28 2008, 11:15 AM |

Here's where Joe Goebbels, Fox News, PNAC Neocons, Kissinger, and Zbigniew Brzynski likely got their "stuff:"
[1928] Propaganda, by Edward L. Bernays [likely out of print] http://www.historyisaweapon.com/defcon1/bernprop.html Not recommended for those with already-high blood pressure. I think many "shadow government" types would prefer this book just quietly fall down the "memory hole." EDIT: Related threads at: Edward Bernays http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum//index....showtopic=15012 History & Propaganda http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum//index....showtopic=11202 |

Freedom Next Time by John Pilger, ISBN 978-0-552-77332-4
QUOTE from the blurb Freedom Next Time is renowned journalist and filmmaker John Pilger’s brilliant description of how courageous people battling to free themselves often glimpse freedom, only to see it taken away. He challenges us in the West to ‘look in the mirror’ at the actions of ‘our’ governments for the true source of much of the world’s fear and insecurity. He interviews eyewitnesses and victims of imperialism from around the world, including:
I like the way he interviews actual victims. I would recommend the book to anyone who is “not into wild conspiracy theories” or to anyone who just wants to catch up on what the mainstream media has been hiding from us. |

Lost Science, by Gerry Vassilatos, ISBN-10: 0932813755, ISBN-13: 978-0932813756
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/093281375...1-1&seller= The book appears to get a few "bad" reviews, but my reading doesn't really support those. The book is about a few old inventions and inventors that you likely haven't heard of. Why is that exactly? |

Secrets of Cold War Technology: Project HAARP and Beyond, by Gerry Vassilatos, ISBN-10: 0932813801, ISBN-13: 978-0932813800
http://www.amazon.com/Secrets-Cold-War-Tec...3792&sr=1-1 Here's a rare, expensive one. I recommend that you do NOT order it from Amazon- it's currently about $60.00 more than I spent there for my copy (which I found exorbitant then). Do some searching yourself, or you could PM me if needed- I know a couple of sources for this book. This book is related to "black"/classified technology and a couple of recent threads around here. |

The Rough Guide to Climate Change by Robert Henson
This is a must read for all those attempting to debate the issues. This excellently produced, well illustrated, well researched and thorough, yet small in size and price book touches on just about every aspect including the contrarians e.g. Lomborg and Crichton. As well as explaining the nature of the beast and its current obvious effects and possible outcomes, with and without intervention, Henson extends into discussing political and personal measure which could, and should, be taken to ameliorate the problems. See: http://www.amazon.com/Rough-Guide-Climate-...e/dp/1843537117 for further details and a review. Edit. PS If buying watch out for the newer 2008 edition of which I have a copy here. The Hunt for Zero Point by Nick Cook – Aerospace Consultant & Jane’s Defence Weekly.
See: http://www.amazon.com/Hunt-Zero-Point-Clas...y/dp/0767906284 An interesting book looking at fantastic, yet believable – almost, technologies that originated with the works of German WW2 scientists and others attempting to overcome gravity and discovering stealth technologies. One of the strongest reasons for reading this book however is that it demonstrates the slippery nature of Black Op’s and the use of nuggets of truth wrapped in disinformation to lead investigators away from the full truth. It also demonstrates that the general public should not believe what the government tells them when even four start Air Force Generals are kept out of need to know loops and thus ensure the vertical and horizontal compartmentalisation of those engaged in projects so that ‘plausible deniability’ is built in. It is also worth a read so that one can appreciate what sophisticated technologies may have been deployed during 9/11. And just as with 9/11, informative documents demonstrating the underpinnings of advanced technology were ‘vanished’ from the system, in the case of such technology some going back to the early 1950s – go figure. The lack of an index is a serious flaw which betrays the journalistic origins. |

I have just been reminded of this one by George and his Mobius Strip.
Gödel, Escher, Bach: an Eternal Gold Braid by Douglas Hofstadter I think it fair to say that this is a classic philosophical outing from a master, one woven around the creative thinking of three other masters in disparate fields but all unified by a compelling strand. As one who was fascinated when writing recursive routines in computer code, loved the complex masterpieces of JS Bach which I play often, and admired the mind-bending works of Escher and worked hard at understanding Gödel this book was a must have. I still enjoy happy hours immersed in this one, it never grows old. The only things missing were the almost psychedelic imagery of a Lewis Carroll or the sensible nonsense of an Edward Lear. Edit PS. One of my favourite record tracks was Marianne Faithfull's rendition of 'The Jabberwock' This post has been edited by Omega892R09: May 7 2008, 05:01 PM |

Dark Mission: The Secret History of NASA, by Richard C. Hoagland and Mike Bara, ISBN-10: 1932595260 ISBN-13: 978-1932595260
http://www.amazon.com/Dark-Mission-Secret-...d_sim_b_title_1 How that "squeaky clean" US agency that you likely grew up respecting back when you likely wanted to be an astronaut was "hijacked" by 3 different "secret society" groups. Hoagland is a controversial fellow, but we've got one or two of those here in this place, too. Has some nice information on "suppressed" technologies in the early chapters too. It has been a "can't put down" for me the last few days, but the "wilder" my C"T"'s the better I like 'em. You know what they say about the truth... EDIT: I'm in full agreement with O892 on Nick Cook's book above for many of the same reasons (and the review is very well written). I described it to someone as like a well-researched episode of one of the early "X Files" episodes with hint of a mystery novel, too. Jane's research doesn't have too many peers. As its the holiday season I thought I would recommend a book or three:
The first is a novel with interesting twists, and rather relevant overall: Pharaoh by Valerio Manfredi ISBN-10: 0230530737 ISBN-13: 978-0230530737 Amazon.com.Pharaoh The Archimedes Codex: How a Medieval Prayer Book Is Revealing the True Genius of Antiquity's Greatest Scientist by Reviel Netz, William Noel ISBN-10: 030681580X ISBN-13: 978-03068158 The Archimedes Codex contains lessons for all studying re-interpretations of history, science and the history of science. Though provoking and I have not reached the end as yet. Amazon.com/Arch'Codex The Lords of Avaris by David Rohl ISBN-10: 0712677623 ISBN-13: 978-0712677622 Amazon.com/Rohl I am not sure about Rohl's opinions as yet this being the first of his I have picked up on but interesting nonetheless. |

The title speak for itself. There will be a quiz GO! http://www.skilluminati.com/docs/HackingMa...ediaEdition.pdf The Acrobat helper powers up and the page finishes fetch with a Done but the window is a blank? Edit: A right click on link and save target I am trying right now and the fetch and save window tells me the file is 2.26MB in size - could be the reason for trouble within IE7. Opens OK in stand alone Acrobat on 2GB machine as one would expect. This post has been edited by Omega892R09: Jun 12 2008, 08:08 AM |

John Zerzan
Running on Emptiness: The Pathology of Civilization amazon.com This book is about how technology is increasingly alienating humans from direct, natural experience. Zerzan is digging as deep as possible to the root of why humanity stinks at life so much...and he found it. Also discussed are the concept of time and how the humans before civilization probably did NOT live chained to the ticking of the clock. It was most interesting to note the slow progression of time keeping throughout history...spoiler: the church had a lot to do with this problem (no surprise here, I'm sure). This book will help you understand true anarchy, not the punk variety. Anarchy is anti authoritarian, and he shows just how all authority leads to more and more problems. And guess what? if you like this book, you now MUST read Ted "unabomber" Kaczynski's life work, "Industrial society and it's future". Zerzan, btw, is friends with TK. he doesn't support his bombing campaign, but ideologically they are on the same exact page. You begin to see how crazy society is once you've witnessed yourself calling Kaczynski a nutjob and now you know he was one of the smartest men of his time...{shudders} If you enjoy reading about Matrix style philosophies, against the Machine, things of this sort, this is your book. |

Rule by Secrecy: The Hidden History That Connects the Trilateral Commission, the Freemasons, and the Great Pyramids, Jim Marrs, ISBN-10: 0060931841, ISBN-13: 978-0060931841 http://www.amazon.com/Rule-Secrecy-Trilate...s/dp/0060931841 This excellently-researched and referenced book tells how various secret societies have manipulated mainstream society for at least a few millennia using wars and religion. Caution: I never viewed Christianity in quite the same way after what this book revealed about Emperor Constantine and the Council of Nicea. I'd call it "must read" IMHO. I'm glad this was the first book to be posted. I read this early in my truth seeking times and it was pivotal to my a)further searching and b)grounding. The book covers so much you can't be isolated in one topic...it gives you the big picture. This is the book i give to anyone who shows real interest in the schemings of the ruling elite. It's perfect for giving just a little bit of all of history. This is very similar to... Gods of Eden, which i will now plug alongside this book. It is focused instead solely on "the brotherhood", starting all the way back with Sumerian gods. He tracks their connection to all the secret societies and power groups throughout history. But don't give this one before giving Rule a Secrecy first. This one might be a little "woo" for some, i can't recall for sure though. |
