I couldn't find any references to this 1996? Space Shuttle mission in my forum search here. It has some interesting connections to the "alternate fuels" thread, but this one is beyond "weird" enough to warrant its own thread.
First- the "conventional" bits about STS-75: http://science.ksc.nasa.gov/shuttle/missio...highlights.html http://www-istp.gsfc.nasa.gov/Education/wtether.html http://www.enterprisemission.com/tmm0013.html http://www.thelivingmoon.com/41pegasus/02f...trodynamic.html http://www.projectprove.com/Arts/075/075.php OK- now who wants to head over to Rense, YouTube, and search for the really strange parts of this tale? |

Now that link brings up a page with the name of none other than Richard C Hoagland - familiar from 'The Stargate Conspiracy' who believed in the 'face on Mars' aka Cydonia. That site leads one into potentially dark and deep socio-political territory: http://www.darkmission.net/what_if.htm click on images to advance. About seven pages in there is a reproduction of a New York Times page carrying an article: 'Mankind is Warned to Prepare For Discovery of Life in Space' Such articles assume that any arriving aliens consider humans to be the most well developed species on earth - reflecting the arrogance of our species and indeed the silliness of religious beliefs based on man made in the image of god - thus being the ultimate in evolutionary terms. Studies into the language of and communication between individuals of a species have discovered that other creatures - such as the humpback whale - have a more highly developed and complex language. So should not an alien pick them? There is also the issue of scale, or size. What if microscopic aliens have already arrived and decided that humans are not worth bothering with and thus evolved diseases to eradicate this overbearing species? More on Richard C Hoagland here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_C._Hoagland and on his book 'Dark Mission: The Secret History of NASA' here: http://www.amazon.com/Dark-Mission-Secret-.../ref=pd_sim_b_3 |

Happy late Christmas (or Super Bowl) present, WM05.
"Evidence: The Case for NASA UFOs" covers this STS-75 thing pretty well (among others). http://www.alienvideo.net/0702/evidence-ca...r-nasa-ufos.php Here is Part 2 at Google video that mentions STS-75 (but I didn't find Part 1 yet): http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8524267568796529301 |
