Here is another "take" on a rounding Earth.

QUOTE
The young, faster spinning, planet showing it wider girth.

"The Geophysical Effects of the Earth's Slowing Rotation!"
(snip)
The Earth's rotation is slowing but at a much slower rate than 1 leap second every so many years. The length of time it takes the Earth, at the present time, to rotate once is 86,400.002 seconds compared to 86,400 seconds back in 1820. The rotation has slowed roughly only by 2 milliseconds since 1820. That seems like an insignificant amount of time BUT over the course of the planet's entire lifetime, it has had very profound effects on the geophysics of the planet.

i think the OS may have its own clock,
that perhaps is not as accurate as the (battery) bios clock.
(something about 15/16th of a second discrepancy?)
but i'm just guessing.
ugh.

i knew that windows read the bios clock when it started and created it's own timer. the windows software timer only has a resolution of 55 milliseconds and runs in a low priority thread. anyways this might be worth a read:

i had to look, because it's been a while and i didn't remember.

Actually, thinking about it, this is probably a big problem for the front running computers working the stock market.
What happens when a transaction takes place during a leap second, or on an out of sync clock?
Business is all about "punching" the clock, efficiency and time, and windows is the OS of business.
And this probably has little to do with the lengthening microsecond duration of day and night.

i think, Neal Adams has clearly demonstrated that Earth grows, and that continents cannot and do not drift around in the crust.
But there is also the daily spin of the Earth, causing it to flatten at the poles and become oblate at the equator. If the rate of this spin, were to slow down, Earth would become more round due to the force of gravity, causing its' diameter at the Equator to shrink.

Compressing the crust toward the equator while stretching the length from pole to pole.
Just a slight decrease in our rate of spin would cause the equatorial regions to dramatically compress. Forcing Earthquakes and volcanoes to shake and erupt.

Notice the ocean floor between Africa and the Americas has a central rift running N/S but it also has many "cracks" running E/W.
Sort of like an accordion?

Could a variation in Earths' daily rotation be the cause of these orogenies?

Anyhow, if the Earth is slowing to a stop, we should see more bigger and deeper earthquakes and volcanoes erupting around the Equator, with rifting and spreading to the North and South.
A melting of the edges of the polar caps as the Earth becomes more round, as it slows, and the sun shines higher in the North and South. Weather and ocean currents may change too, also we may see a change in sea levels. (dropping in the N and S and rising near the Equator?)
We also may see some new lands rising, around the Equatorial areas, as the solid crust of the Earth must compress by wrinkling up and down.

Funny, how this subject inspires so many words.

From Clif High at halfpasthuman.com :

Yes, this will tear apart forever the theory of continental drift, bringing the established practices of academia into question, not only in geo-sciences but also physics, and astrophysics.

Here is one of Neal Adams videos on the "growing" Earth:

As you well know Lunk,

I think of a Planet as a nuclear reactor that collapses into a core of molten Iron…after a supernova…then begins to cool.

Because of this belief...the expanding Planet fits perfectly into this thought.

I actually believe that Earthquakes are a part of this expansion…

The thing is that the Earth is getting bigger,
how, is now the question that deserves an answer, and still is up for debate.

From our perspective, matter is being made out of "nothing" around and within large gravitational centers. Yes, that would be the cores, of planets, moons and stars.

It is all growing and changing, because it's growing, into the entire, unbounded, whole, infinite, universe.

A center of gravity, shows position, but has no volume, within its' mass,
it is the physical manifestation of the theoretical-geometrical "point."
Gravity, is the physical manifestation of the theoretical-geometrical "line."
showing length but having no width, between 2 point-centers of gravity.

Area? The surface of a sphere, the field around the electron, giving a volume, and center?

Pick up a rock, it has a center of gravity, a balancing point,
sometimes it has more than one, depending on the shape and densities.
But a rock out in space has no weight, it takes a second separate center of gravity for it to show weight in gravity.

Points, lines, areas, volumes, repeat in scale, up or down, forever.

I think you would really enjoy my rock garden.

Most are black [carbon] and many having gas pockets of different sizes?

Are these gas pockets air or co2?

Others are solid or marbled granite and a few contain Iron Oxide…

Ask your volcano.

You could probably drill a hole-y rock and hit a still sealed pocket of gas, and
test it. SO2 stinks, CO2 will out a lit match, methane will ignite...
i don't know, carbon... in colour, or in element?

I wonder why that is?

pumice, frothed volcanic glass (obsidian), i think.
probably frothed with air, or volcanic gasses.

Does it float?

It would take some time to perform a forensic analysis but they come in three forms and only one floats.

The other two go from mid weight to very heavy…

I’m fairly sure they are carbon based…there is no glass…

It will take several days to photo and upload…

May be the moon included Hawaii?

Whatever the original liquid starting material was, they look like solidified froth,
rounded with the wisdom of age, to the same general shape as the bubbles within.

There is something geometrical about the location of Hawaii, on the globe.
The angle that a tetrahedron corner meets a sphere, or something...

OK, if the moon is moving away at 2.4 cm/year, and has been for 3000 years...
it would have been closer, then.

but then it's orbit is supposed to vary...

So which is it…Mass or Volume?

As the molten radioactive, nuclear core of the Earth…cools off… it will naturally expand…

I’m not sure if the Moon is actually moving away or rather making adjustments in accordance to the periodic nature of Earth

I think they found the Prime Matter Particle!!!

http://www.popsci.com/science/article/2011...le-or-new-force

This is the virtually undetectable particle/force
that matter is made from!

It pours (as space) into large centers of gravity, going through existing matter like it wasn't there, causing matter to "grow" at a rate that causes an increases in mass (as seen through matter) by a factor of 4 over time.
The opposite of the inverse square law (for the outward radiation of energy from a point.)

This is how mass (of matter) and energy are directly related!

This is big, and this will change everything in science.

Energy radiates outward, dispersing with the inverse square law, as matter grows inward concentrating at a four fold rate over time, around centers of gravity.

Any mass, is the entire mass, of all the matter, in the universe, showing itself through matter, like light through apertures of varying sizes.

This is because the universe is the largest possible volume of matter, and is unbounded, and all smaller volumes within, must have a center of gravity, in their center of mass, which is everywhere and at every point, in the universe, but only shows itself through volumes of matter, as a center of gravity.

We live in an ocean of these particles. This is the aether.
In its purest form, it is the vacuum of space,
that light waves ripple through the fastest.

Why does Earth expand when it cools?

When the core of the Earth changes from a sloshy hot liquid to a cool solid, it expands, because it becomes less dense. This is why the crust appears to float to the top of your Earth Coke, rather than sinking like a stone to the bottom. [continents do not really float]

The Earth’s core quirky behavior is caused by the shape of its molecule and by how its molecules bond to one another. Core Iron is a molecule and not an Atom.

Stars are born of hydrogen and once it is all made into "Iron", no more energy can be derived from fusion...a few small reactions may take place to delay the end...but eventually all possible fuels run out. [Nickel 56 will decay into Iron 55.845]

Each hot Iron molecule still has several hydrogen atoms bonded to an oxygen atom. Because of how the atoms share electrons, a core Iron molecule is slightly positively charged at the hydrogen atoms, and slightly negatively charged at the oxygen atom. The molecule's charged ends attract the oppositely charged ends of other Iron core molecules ("hydrogen bonding").

This is also why cooling Planets still poses magnetic fields.

The principal component of volcanic gases is 80 % water vapor (H2O)…and that is why we have water. Water vapor in the form of steam may also contain CO2 carbon dioxide.

Unlike exposed liquid Iron, the molecules in the core are held rigidly apart. That means more empty space between molecules, so cooler core Iron occupies more room.

To some degree think of Hemoglobin in Red blood…that contains Iron. This Iron is an excellent vehicle for carrying Oxygen & carbon dioxide molecules.

NOTE: Related to Hemoglobin is Myoglobin. Myoglobin forms pigments responsible for making meat red. The color that meat takes is partly determined by the oxidation states of the Iron atom in myoglobin and the oxygen species attached to it. When meat is in its raw state, the iron atom is in the +2 oxidation state, and is bound to a dioxygen molecule (O2). Meat cooked well done is brown because the iron atom is now in the +3 oxidation state, having lost an electron, and is now coordinated by a water molecule.

It is no wonder why they called this Planet…”Mother Earth”.

The Earth is alive and technically in its second life…with the Sun serving her with heat and light…

Humans were formed in the same way… handsdown.gif

It appears that Planets & Moons with molten Iron cores have Magnetic fields and those [older] with cold solid Iron cores do not.

Jupiter’s rather large magnetic field seems to indicate a very young Planet with an extremely hot Iron core. .

Everything comes to those who wait...unless you are a cat...
