something did not work with my validation before, me thinketh...
A hearty Thank You to Mr. Balsamo for fixing it! (IMG:http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum/style_emoticons/default/handsdown.gif) --- Intro: COMSEUR Introduction: michas (aka COMSEUR) Man of lettuce….err…..letters! Tadhg michas, also known to Interpol as "COMSEUR”, fled the northern plains of Germany sometime during the last millennium. After spending 15 years hiding in the marquis of Corsica, he entered Portugal clandestinely in a crate of Guinness destined for a bar in Lisbon, but the shipment was intercepted by crazed natives tired of drinking what passes for beer in those parts. Taken to Sintra, he was mistaken for packing material and tossed aside, and wandered the streets with a cardboard sign, which read "aistrighfidh mé le haghaidh bía" (will translate for food). Possessed of wit and perspicacity, he was offered the James O'Donnell chair of Applied Nonsense at the University of Coimbra, but graciously declined, preferring to pursue his life of genteel dissipation in blissful anonymity. When not fomenting international discord, he resides in Colares / Portugal with his wife and their two internationally known and feared dogs. --- There you have it, COM in a nutshell. Great introduction lol! Welcome here. Gentle men & gentler ladies, thank you kindly for the welcome. It's kind of embarrassing to arrive in this fine forum at such a late date... Please rest assured that I have been following events in "them colonies yonder" VERY attentively over the last...ummmm 10 years or so. For now, I only have ONE question.... (more will follow, surely): WHO is excelsior, pls? (IMG:http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum/style_emoticons/default/dunno.gif) There's only one COM, tho... (IMG:http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Good to be here. (IMG:http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum/style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif) |

. . . For now, I only have ONE question.... (more will follow, surely): WHO is excelsior, pls? (IMG:http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum/style_emoticons/default/dunno.gif) In your introductory post you wrote: QUOTE Taken to Sintra, he was mistaken for packing material and tossed aside "Excelsior" in this context is not a WHO (although it would make a great handle for someone) but is a WHAT: QUOTE Excelsior (wood wool) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Excelsior is a wood product made of aspen fibers, used in packaging, cushioning, stuffing of stuffed animals, and for the cooling pads in home evaporative cooling systems known as swamp coolers. Excelsior, dyed green, makes an annual appearance as the "grass" in Easter baskets, or did in earlier decades before the prevalence of plastics. Traditionally used in stuffing Teddy bears, it is still used in stuffing the muzzles of some collectible bears. In North America the term excelsior is sometimes used more generally, for any clean, loose material for shipment-packing of boxes or crates, such as styrofoam packing peanuts. Thus: QUOTE You might fit right in if not mistaken for excelsior. (IMG:http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Is a direct play off your own comment with a minor pun (fit right in) to boot. Nothing makes a retort less humorous than an explanation. I find it a little disconcerting that someone shows up with an introduction full of playful oddities and perplexities obviously not meant to be taken literally only to then turn around and demand further explanation when someone reflects those same qualities in an equally playful reply. But there you have it. Welcome to the forum. (IMG:http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum/style_emoticons/default/pilotfly.gif) |

painter, I stand corrected, Sir!
My mind thinks of call signs, first and foremost... call it habit... (IMG:http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Having my own doubts about Wikipedia, I don't go there too often, myself. I am busy building up new Aviation Forum with a couple of pilot friends.
On this new board, which obviousely is still at its beginning, it is easy for the AdminTeam to keep everything neatly arranged. (IMG:http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Seen from this angle I watch myself getting sensitive to off-topic posts and topics in the wrong forum as well as new topics are being started without searching for existing discussions of the same subject. I have moved this topic to the Welcome All Forum and split out 2 posts. There might be more split & merge- and (IMG:http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum/style_emoticons/default/cleanup.gif) -action from my side in the next time. Plse stop me, before it's getting a habit.
