"It was the fire that killed the buildings. There's nothing on earth that could survive those temperatures with that amount of fuel burning," said structural engineer Chris Wise.

"The columns would have melted, the floors would have melted and eventually they would have collapsed one on top of each other."

The buildings' construction manager, Hyman Brown, agreed that nothing could have saved them from the inferno.

"The buildings would have stood had a plane or a force caused by a plane smashed into it," he said.

"But steel melts, and 24,000 gallons (91,000 litres) of aviation fluid melted the steel. Nothing is designed or will be designed to withstand that fire."

Now, there is so much disinformation in this BBC article it's not even funny, the least of which being that steel melts at 800 degrees C (IMG:http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum/style_emoticons/default/doh1.gif) . The true number is about twice that. Of course no one in their right mind these days would assert that there was any melting of steel going on that day, but the fact remains that this major news organization published these untruths.

What else is misleading in this article? First, the graphic grossly mis-represents the buildings' cores. They were massive, containing 47 box-columns each that stretched from the top of the towers to bedrock. The idea that jet-fuel is some kind of mysterious, super-inflamatory substance is highly misleading - in fact it is essentially kerosene, much like lighter fluid. Great for starting charcoal fires, burns off quick.

Indeed, there are so many holes in the official account, so much evidence that the towers were brought down by controlled demolition, that I won't even try to enumerate them all -

In August 2006, a report was written by Brent Blanchard, Senior Editor for Implosionworld.com ... entitled "A Critical Analysis of the collapse of the WTC 1,2 and 7 from an Explosives and Conventional Demolition Industry Viewpoint", the report was written in an attempt to "debunk" the claim that explosives and/or similar catalysts contributed to the collapse of the World Trade Center...
