The beauty of that painter is that DUCKY THE CHIMP works equally well. (IMG:http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) you're right, that is probably better. So many potential rhyming words, too. (IMG:http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum/style_emoticons/default/cheers.gif) |

Can we get a drive going - "Send your used shoes to an Iraqi journalist"?
It can be sold as an Iraqi National Defense initiative to protect the fledgling "democracy" from Neocons and washed-up imperial presidents on victory laps. A special appeal could be made for worn-out crocs, particularly since every word out of this administration for the last 8 years has pretty much been a croc. Homeland security will now ban shoes completely, not just going through airport security. Great... |

Can we get a drive going - "Send your used shoes to an Iraqi journalist"? Oooohhh... I bet George regrets that he didn't go for a "Bath in the crowd" in Baghdad. Had he done that, he would now have something to fall back on after he leaves office... The Iraqi people may not exactly have been thowing flowers back in 2003; but something tells me that they would certainly have contributed generously for a worthy cause such as this one: "Dubbyah's Shoe-Emporium" ! And with the many, many contributions from all over the world, he could have even called it "Dubbyah's International Shoe-Emporium" !! Imelda Marcos- eat your heart out !!! BTW- I was wondering just how long it would take- and here it already is... Good, clean fun for the entire family- the perfect gift for all seasons: http://blogslut.com/gwbshoethrow.html In the meantime, Mr. al-Zaidi is evidently still in custody; he may face up to two years in jail- for "Insulting a foreign head of state": QUOTE Maythem al-Zaidi contacted a judge to ask him if what his brother did is a crime under Iraqi law. The judge told him that he might serve two years in prison or pay a fine for insulting a president of foreign country unless Bush withdrew the case. "If they manage to imprison Muntader, there are millions of him all over Iraq and the Arab world," Maythem al-Zaidi said. http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/12/15/afr...raq-thrower.php Naturally, this is another great piece of journalism which provides deep, deep insight into all manners of weird and wonderful details regarding famous personages such as Mr. al-Zaidi. Like this for example: QUOTE Maythem al-Zaidi said that his brother is politically independent, but several people who know him mentioned that he was a Baathist who turned into a Sadrist after the war. Ah...Mmmhhh... "Several people who know him". Riiight... This post has been edited by Devilsadvocate: Dec 16 2008, 11:01 AM |

I fear this may well be the moment were the laughter should get stuck in the throat.
Because if this should prove to be true, it could spell a huge amount of trouble... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/7785338.stm QUOTE The brother of the Iraqi journalist who threw his shoes at US President George W Bush has said that the reporter has been beaten in custody. Muntadar al-Zaidi has allegedly suffered a broken arm, broken ribs and internal bleeding, his older brother, Dargham, told the BBC

Impossible to say right now.
He evidently was in the custody of the Iraqi security service; I wouldn't doubt that they are quite capable of doing precisely that. But there is also the possibility that his brother fell for the temptation of spicing things up a wee bit. One way or another- He better turn up without any broken bones. Otherwise there is a very real possibility that people will die in that place very soon- in large numbers... |

Hehehe...
This is what you call the "Mother of all PR-disasters"... Just came across this: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2008/d...ing-goes-viral/ QUOTE "This is going viral at a rapid pace, unlike anything I've seen post-election," said David Burch, marketing manager for TubeMogul, which tracks YouTube video views. "People are uploading videos of the incident to YouTube at an average rate of 209 per hour. Currently, there are over 5,000 versions, totaling over 8,145,000 views." Meanwhile- this is another game already doing the round... The flying shoe.
Finally a symbol of protest. I remember getting stung by a red jellyfish once, the entire top of my foot swelled to the point where I could no longer wear a shoe on that foot. Strange, it didn't really ever hurt, but simply being unable to wear a shoe meant that I was not allowed on public transit or in restaurants, and I wasn't allowed to work, even though I had no trouble walking in bare feet. I don't condone throwing shoes at anyone though. my 2ft worth imo, lunk |

there are so many shoes that should be thrown at these gangsters.
and i care to utter an arabic curse to maliki and bush: may a camel sit on the bones of your ancestors. and i care to utter it to all the members of the us congress. and to all the us citizens that have failed to get out in the street as they did during the post-1968 anti-vietnam protests. and yes, it is probably true that richard's explosive shoes[sic] would have been better projectiles. later. perhaps more will follow. |

With all this coverage of this "shoe" incident one cannot help wonder about future public speaking engagements by GWB. Would members of the audiance dare repeat this act?

Would members of the audiance dare repeat this act? rc (hehe) Oh, they'll ban shoes... So, they'll be throwing socks. And they'll ban those, too. By the time they get to their underwear, there will be no more public speaking engagements... Merely to prevent incidents of public indecency, of course!!! |

Hey guys, I read somewhere on the internet that there is a movement here in the US to mail to the White House, Washington DC 20500
OLD SHOES, in accordance with the procedures recently established by the courageous Iraqi journalist. (IMG:http://pilotsfor911truth.org/forum/style_emoticons/default/whistle.gif) I'm sending my oldest pair in the mail today. |
