There was this news that appeared all over the mainstream media that has completely disappeared, and I'm sorry I did not keep some record of it, on one of the shuttle mission they went to a record hight of 350 miles above the earth, at this point the radiation became so bad the the astronauts became ill and had to make an emergency landing. That would be the van Allen belts, there are two levels of such belts around the earth and also similar belts around other planets. The Pioneer 10 space probe very nearly had its electronics crippled when passing through stronger such belts around Saturn.

The Apollo astronauts would have passed quickly through the belts around earth whereas the Space Shuttle orbits at around 270 km. Orbiting within the range of the belts is of course a bad idea although the Mir space station was out at about 360 km.

If you want some more alternative reading as to what really happened on the Apollo missions, just google 'Richard Hoagland' and the word 'enterprise'.

It seems that Armstrong may not have been the first human to walk on the moon, he was just the first return visitor.

Here is a nice anecdote that was in the news papers all over Europe but may be not in US.


In october 1969 the US-ambassador in the Netherlands, William Middendorf, gave a stone from "the surface of the moon" to the president Willem Dreesman while the Apollo-11 astronauts visited the Netherlands. Some scientists in Amsterdam now analyzed that "official" stone. They found fossil wood from the earth. Now the Rijksmuseum want to show it as curiosity.

Spacecraft see 'damp' Moon soils

I find this para' interesting:

The rock and soil samples returned by the Apollo missions were found to be ever so slightly "damp" when examined in the laboratory, but scientists could never rule out the possibility that the water in the samples got in only after they were hauled back to Earth.

Now would one not think that those bright folk at NASA would have included tools to test for moisture whilst the missions were on the surface. After all how many visits were supposedly made?

It's odd that radiation levels were not a serious concern with any of the Apollo missions, and they did not bother to measure the radiation levels when they were supposedly on the moon.

well, i think that in some earlier posts i discussed my intersection with that great reptillian gangster john king[king resources]. who always had wally schirra and alan carpenter hanging around as his sycophants.
