http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonardo_da_Vinci Anyhow, i took this image and cut it in half, reversed his right side and pasted it over his left. He used to write everything reversed backwards, so it makes sense that he would have incorporated this backwards stuff into his art, too. Pretty amazing self portrait: (IMG:http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp210/rongrite/leonardo3.jpg) Yes, i made this, myself. |

Somehow, I get the feeling that the “Last Supper” plays into this game. Why is Mary always left out of history? The early Church fathers had a problem with a married Jesus. Mary was, of course, his wife. Examine the wedding at Cana. Jesus' mother Mary is giving orders to the servants just as if (!) she were the hostess. Because she was. What occurred at this wedding that obligated Jesus to change the water into wine? Kind of a heavy deal for just anybody's wedding, but not for his own. The marriage happened. It was actually a dynastic alliance of families, making Jesus the Nazarene. literally, "the King of the Jews." This status had to be at least made debatable, which was done semantically during translations. The terms "soma" (live body) and ptoma (carcass) are used rather loosely. So the early Church fathers took into account that there was much knowledge of what really happened, and could not hope to erase Mary (Jesus' wife), but they could blacken her name, eliminate any mention of any affiliations with her. Make her a whore. Instead of being Jesus "favorite disciple", she was reduced to "one of the boys, sort of". So instead of getting her own gospel, she gets the street instead. But it was Mary's brother, Lazarus, (aka "the beloved disciple" {which is how the writer refers to himself in the gospel of John}, "Eliazar" or some variant), who provided the ass for Jesus to ride into Jerusalem. A close co-conspirator? Who more natural than your brother-in-law to-be, and both of you being of royal blood? St. Peter, (on whom the church was founded) was a terrible misogynist, and this effort to minimize Mary in all ways would have been in keeping with his beliefs. |
