I don't think the Tunisian thing, the Egypt thing, was planned. I think the would-be rulers are shaking in their boots. The fact that the real news on the ground isn't being reported is one clue.

i don't trust elbaradei either. why don't the egyptians wise up and elect the guy who's lived in their neighborhood his whole life instead of some international mover and shaker?

I also believe that this was not planned, but at this point for the west it's more important to preserve the Egyptian regime in one form or another with it's pro Israel stance than keeping Moubarak in power, I'm sure lots of people are working overtime on this one, in the end it's the Egyptian military leadership that will decide, much of it being in the pockets of the pentagon and the cia-mossad.
