The base of the cores of the towers were evaporated, causing the core to drop down, pulling in
the outer walls, weakened by thermite-like reactions, followed by a top down sequential demolition of the outer perimeter walls.
The smoke at the top of the towers obscured the initiation of the demolition, while the towers themselves obscured the view of the thermal-nuclear reactions at the core of their foundations.

To me, it looks like most of the demolition of the wtc was done with fourth generation mini-nuclear devices, or propagandized as "suitcase nukes".
As far as i have researched, these modern nuclear devices are also known as,
directed energy weapons, as their blast can be shaped, or directed.
It has long been suggested that atomic weapons could have peace-time uses, in plowing fields or building demolition.
