Sep 6, 2011; Do you strongly agree, somewhat agree, somewhat disagree, or strongly disagree that the U.S. government and its commissions have fully investigated the attacks of 9/11/2001? Response % Agree 58 Disagree 33 Not sure 9 http://www.ibopezogby.com/news/2011/09/06/...credit-stoppin/ A Zogby poll conducted in August 2007 found that 51% of Americans want Congress to probe Bush/Cheney regarding the 9/11 attacks, two-thirds (67%) of Americans say the 9/11 Commission should have investigated the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7. with a 3.1 percent margin of error. The results of the 2007 August poll indicate that over 30% of those polled seek immediate impeachment. While only 32% seek immediate Bush and/or Cheney impeachment based on their personal knowledge, many citizens appear eager for clear exposure of the facts. A March 2010 poll conducted by the Angus Reid Public Opinion organization found that 15% of respondents found theories that the World Trade Center was brought down by a controlled demolition to be credible. Judicial Watch filed a lawsuit against the Department of Defense for withholding a video(s) that allegedly shows United Flight 77 striking the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. The Pentagon claims it cannot release the video because it is part of an ongoing investigation involving Zacarias Moussaoui, but this is a specious argument. Moussaoui already pled guilty in April 2005 for conspiring with al Qaida to fly planes into U.S. buildings. Commission co-chair Lee Hamilton says "I don't believe for a minute we got everything right", that the Commission was set up to fail, that people should keep asking questions about 9/11, and that the 9/11 debate should continue. Commissioner Bob Kerrey said that "There are ample reasons to suspect that there may be some alternative to what we outlined in our version . . . We didn't have access . . . ." He also says that it might take "a permanent 9/11 commission" to end the remaining mysteries of September 11. And WHEREAS the scientific evidence proves that a Boeing 757 did not crash into the Pentagon. BE IT RESOLVED therefore, that the 46th Legislative Democrats (LD) call for the establishment of a public investigation of the event before during, and after September 11, 2001, so that we have a greater probability of preventing attacks of this nature in the future. BE IT RESOLVED that the secretary of the 46th LD shall forward this resolution to the Chairmen of the Snohomish County Democratic Party and WA State Democratic Party. BE IT RESOLVED that the secretary of the 46th LD forward a letter to the local news media noting this resolution. In the days after September 11 the EPA and OSHA took air samples and reported that they found no excessive levels of asbestos, lead, or volatile organic compounds in the air, except in or around Ground Zero. Contrary to these reports, dust samples taken from surfaces near Ground Zero did show very high levels of asbestos. Significant quantities of asbestos had remained in the Twin Towers despite asbestos abatement programs. In August of 2003, it was revealed that the EPA had been muzzled by the Bush administration. EPA Inspector General Nikki Tinsley issued a report on August 21, 2003, admitting that the reassurances were unfounded, and that the public statements of the agency were being influenced by the National Security Council, under the direction of the White House. The EPA, according to the report, had been influenced to "add reassuring statements and delete cautionary ones." A senior scientist at the Environmental Protection Agency has accused the agency of relying on misleading data about the health hazards of World Trade Center dust and that this dust most likely would reach into the lower airways of the lungs, where it could cause serious illnesses. The scientist, who has been sharply critical of the agency in the past, claimed in a letter to members of the New York Congressional delegation this week that test reports in 2002 and 2003 distorted the alkalinity, or pH level, of the dust released when the twin towers collapsed, downplaying its danger in order to avoid lawsuit from Americans.
