An insider account told by Karen Kwiatkowski, a retired USAF Lt. Colonel, reveals that Israeli military dignitaries had clandestine meetings with Donald Feith at the Pentagon prior to 9/11. Kwiatkowski, who worked in the DoD’s Office of Special Plans said she “couldn’t have been more relieved to be away from daily exposure to practices [she] had come to believe were unconstitutional” when she finally left government service. In an article for the American Conservative she related an incident that she said was “seared into my memory”:
“A coworker and I were suddenly directed to go down to the mall entrance to pick up some Israeli generals... The Navy lieutenant commander and I hustled down. Before we could apologize for the delay, the leader of the pack surged ahead, his colleagues in close formation, leaving us to double-time behind the group as they sped to Undersecretary Feith’s office on the fourth floor. Two thoughts crossed our minds: are we following close enough to get credit for escorting them, and do they know where they are going? We did get credit, and they did know. Once in Feith’s waiting room, the leader continued at speed to Feith’s door. An alert secretary saw this coming and had leapt from her desk to block the door. “Mr. Feith has a visitor. It will only be a few more minutes”. The leader craned his neck to look around the secretary’s head as he demanded, “Who is in there with him?” ... seeing the sign-in roster, I asked the secretary, “Do you want these guys to sign in?” She raised her hands, both palms toward me, and waved frantically as she shook her head “No, no, no, it is not necessary, not at all.” Her body language told me I had committed a faux pas for even asking the question. My fellow escort and I chatted on the way back to our office about how the generals knew where they were going (most foreign visitors to the five-sided asylum don’t) and how the generals didn’t have to sign in. I felt a bit dirtied by the whole thing...” (American Conservative: “Former Pentagon Insider: Neoconservative Propoganda Campaign Led to War” 1/19/04)
Did Israel play some sort of role on 9/11? The idea that the Mossad was somehow involved was fueled by the arrest of Israeli nationals posing as art students who were caught spying in the U.S. In the investigation into the ‘Israeli spy ring’ as many as 140 Israeli nationals were detained and questioned, some who were accused of tailing the 9/11 hijackers and a handful that supposedly had “material knowledge” of the terrorist attacks prior to September 11 as was reported in the Washington Post. No follow-up information about this investigation was ever released. The Bush White House apparently persuaded their friends at Fox News to pull the transcript of a four part news broadcast about the Israeli spies from their web site.
If 9/11 was an inside job, why would Israel be involved? What is the real nature of the US/Israeli relationship? Will Jews and Palestinians ever enjoy peace in the holy land?
The answers to these questions are as deep-rooted as they are complex...

Jerusalem plans new settlements in east
By Amy Teibel, Associated Press
@ Yahoo News, May 10 2007
The Jerusalem municipality is advancing a plan to build three new Jewish neighborhoods that would connect the city's disputed eastern sector with West Bank settlement blocs, the Haaretz newspaper reported Thursday.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070510/ap_on_..._east_jerusalem
The plan to build more than 20,000 apartments outraged Palestinians, who claim all of east Jerusalem as the capital of a future state.

One needs to read between the lines of this article. Reuters has been controlled by the Rothschild family, who have had intimate connections to the state of Israel since before its inception, for over a hundred years. Why would they report this? Will this revelation be used to cut off money transfers to the Palestinian Authority altogether?? Interesting. Article courtesy of beached

"The Genovese Syndrome"
by By James Zogby
Washington Watch,July 6, 2006
Some of you won’t remember her, but many in my generation will recall the horror and shame they felt after hearing the story of how she was raped and stabbed to death on a New York City street in 1964. What shocked the nation was the fact that 37 witnesses heard Kitty’s cries but did nothing to help. Years later, social scientists, studying this disturbing passivity, termed it the “Genovese Syndrome”.courtesy, TheQuest

The Challenge of Hamas to Fatah
by Jonathan Schanzer
Middle East Quarterly, Spring 2003
Comments on the outcome of the Fatah-Hamas summit held in Cairo in mid-November 2002, this article also gives an overview of the history of Hamas-Fatah relations.
Interestingly, the relations between Fatah and Hamas have always been tumultuous. The two groups have a long history of attempting to undermine one another. Indeed, the Fatah-Hamas conflict is looming as the next "struggle for Palestine"—the outcome of which is far from certain.http://www.meforum.org/article/516

The Hamas Triumph
by Graham Usher
The Nation, February 2, 2006
Three factors contributed to Hamas's victory: Palestinian disillusionment that peace or a return to meaningful negotiations with Israel were anywhere on the horizon; appreciation for Hamas's record of clean and selfless service providing as well as its role in the armed resistance, widely seen as the cause of Israel's withdrawal from Gaza this past summer; and, above all, profound antipathy generated by a decade of Fatah's misrule of the PA, capped by the PA's failure to bring political progress, economic recovery, law or order in the aftermath of the Gaza withdrawal.http://www.thenation.com/doc/20060220/usher

You're not gonna get a balanced view on any of this from any one place IMO. In my humble opinion, you have to read from a variety of sources and take it all with a grain of salt. That applies to everything in this topic BTW. Here is an article on the History of Jeruselem from one such source:

In the late 1940s, Walther (Walter) Rauff, an SS officer who was responsible for the murder of at least 100,000 people and was wanted by the Allies as a war criminal, was employed by the Israeli secret service. Instead of bringing him to justice it paid him for his services and helped him escape to South America. Documents of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) that have been released over the past several years show that the Americans were aware that Rauff's case was not exceptional.http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/843805.html archive

A Clean Break:A New Strategy for Securing the Realm
By Richard Perle, James Colbert, Charles Fairbanks, Jr., Douglas Feith, Robert Loewenberg, David Wurmser, and Meyrav Wurmser
Institute for Advanced Strategic and Political Studies, 1996
Israel can shape its strategic environment, in cooperation with Turkey and Jordan, by weakening, containing, and even rolling back Syria. This effort can focus on removing Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq — an important Israeli strategic objective in its own right — as a means of foiling Syria’s regional ambitions. Jordan has challenged Syria's regional ambitions recently by suggesting the restoration of the Hashemites in Iraq. This has triggered a Jordanian-Syrian rivalry to which Asad has responded by stepping up efforts to destabilize the Hashemite Kingdom, including using infiltrations. Syria recently signaled that it and Iran might prefer a weak, but barely surviving Saddam, if only to undermine and humiliate Jordan in its efforts to remove Saddam.http://www.israeleconomy.org/strat1.htm
Since Iraq's future could affect the strategic balance in the Middle East profoundly, it would be understandable that Israel has an interest in supporting the Hashemites in their efforts to redefine Iraq, including such measures as: visiting Jordan as the first official state visit, even before a visit to the United States, of the new Netanyahu government; supporting King Hussein by providing him with some tangible security measures to protect his regime against Syrian subversion; encouraging — through influence in the U.S. business community — investment in Jordan to structurally shift Jordan’s economy away from dependence on Iraq; and diverting Syria’s attention by using Lebanese opposition elements to destabilize Syrian control of Lebanon.
