Need to verify that DC airspace was restricted and around what radius of the Pentagon or DC. Is this analysis already posted somewhere? I can't tell from air charts at Sky Vector http://skyvector.com/
and would need to teach myself to read the chart to be conclusive (not a pilot myself, just ground and mechanical experience). If any has already, or would like to offer a description of how the airspace is restricted now compared to pre-9/11 on older maps (in case they have modified it to hide tracks) and any verification on the difference between military and civilian "friend or foe" beacon. This stems from a coastguard member stating, "Once again...hundreds of planes fly through DC everyday. So is the missile system going to shoot down every plane that flys over the Pentagon?" So, it sounds like a solid tidbit of evidence to put together that can be used beyond this military skeptic who has less aviation knowledge than at least I do. What help can be offered on this? Thanks, Larry |
