Topic Introduction

The right hand doesn't always know what the left hand is doing, and US covert dealings with terrorists, most notably via the CIA, have almost as long and sorted a history as its involvement in drug-running, either tacitly or by proxy.

Air America drug operations that operated in Laos during the Vietnam War are legendary, CIA peddling of cocaine in Miami and South Central Los Angeles as part of Ollie North's CONTRA war is well documented, and proceeds from the Afghan opium trade that were used to help finance the US backed war there against the Red Army far exceeded above-board contributions from the US and Saudi Arabia combined. But one of the most insidious of these narratives is that of Huffman Aviation, the Florida pilot school where Mohammed Atta was enrolled...

5.5 Tonne Cocaine Bust Reveals New Details Of 9.11 Attack
by Daniel Hopsicker
MadCowMorningNews, May 16 2006
courtesy of Scoop Independent News
QUOTE
A MadCowMorningNews  investigation into the ownership of the DC9 airliner caught carrying 5.5 tons of cocaine in Mexico last month has uncovered explosive new details about some of the many lingering mysteries still surrounding the 9.11 attack.

San Diego defense contractor Titan Corporation, already implicated in the fraudulent bankruptcy of a shadowy St. Petersburg FL company which owned the DC9 "Cocaine One" flight busted in Mexico, employed a Lebanese contractor who assisted Mohamed Atta and other terrorist hijackers in Venice, Florida.

Assets of Reported CIA Front-Man Frozen in Turkey
by Devlin Buckley
dissidentvoice, February 27, 2007
QUOTE
Al-Qadi, prior to being publicly identified as a key al-Qaeda financer, owned a prominent U.S. technology firm and reported CIA front known as Ptech... which, according to U.S. intelligence officials who spoke to 9/11 whistleblower Indira Singh, was a "CIA clandestine op on the level of Iran-Contra."

...Moreover, according to Singh, a CBS affiliate in Boston "paid for private investigators to follow a couple of the Ptech people, and it did go to a mob-run warehouse area and the reports came back that basically it was a drop shipment place for drugs."

Nato force 'feeds Kosovo sex trade'
by Ian Traynor in Zagreb
The Guardian, May 7 2004
QUOTE
Western troops, policemen, and civilians are largely to blame for the rapid growth of the sex slavery industry in Kosovo over the past five years, a mushrooming trade in which hundreds of women, many of them under-age girls, are tortured, raped, abused and then criminalised, Amnesty International said yesterday... Apart from women trafficked into Kosovo, there is a worsening problem with girls abducted locally. A Kosovo support group working with victims reported that a third of these locals were under 14, and 80% were under 18.
