Dammit Sanders, you made me cry. I know a couple of Persians. They are amazing deep-hearted people. Will have dinner with one of them tomorrow, actually.
It's pathetic and sick that the victims of war are not those who perpetrate the monstrous madness. How can we change that? How can we restore the rule of law?

Iran's crime - refusal to accept fiat banking, the cancer that is destroying America at this moment, courtesy of a foreign controlled central bank, in violation of Islamic rules regarding usury.
Doesn't help that they have a bunch of oil.
Kabloom.
Hasn't even happened yet, I'm crying too.
BTW, Ahmadinejad never threatened to "wipe" anyone "off the map".
http://www.mujca.com/iranrumor.htm Of course, because I'm saddened by the thought of Iranians by the tens of thousands dying at the hand of US military might, I must be a terrorist.

Sanders, how many times can our hearts be broken? Yet we must not let our spirits break.
So many are dying, so many more will die, all around the world. Soon they will be dying right before our eyes. Not on TV and in the papers, but in our very neighborhoods. How do we grow the emotional callous to handle that?
It's something I struggle with every day, as I see people oblivious to the train that is about to run over all of us. At least we see the train coming and know to jump off the track.
Yet any of us may die as well. Even if we are smart and prepared and know to hide when the time comes, we still may die.
We just have to be able to accept what we cannot change.

My heart is in little pieces. ...My spirit is intact. But my life is no more important than any one of the thousands who'll be snuffed in the first 30 minutes of "shock and awe" -dot- Iran ... (I hear September).
Hey, we've known it was coming. Iraq was a nice place too, before. Welcome to war.
What's to be done about it? At this late date? ... dunnoh ... March in the street? Post stuff like this?
Ultimately the Fed has to be kicked out on it's arse. The FED is the cash-cow of the war-mongerers.

Meanwhile in the "people's house", our "representatives" are pretending that they are powerless to stop what we all know is coming. They could pass a resolution prohibiting any action against Iran; they could get serious about impeachment, they could revoke the authorization for the use of force based on the fraudulent nature of the administration case. They could prohibit the first use of force against anyone. But they won't. But you ask any of the chest-thumping assholes driving their hummers and suburbans why we should go to war against Iran, and they will tell you it is to keep us safe. Hell, they may even admit it is the name of keeping our gas tanks full, and then defend the position on that basis. It won't do that - quite the contrary, but when the shooting starts they will be up and cheering.

Aye! Because neither they nor their nearest and dearest will be in the front line catching the bullets and being divested of limbs and worse by bombs and mines. Their track record on this is well known with the P and VP being both draft dodgers.
Maturin it heartens me when I see that people with backgrounds such as yourself speak out against this nonsense. I guess you must feel betrayed having put yourself in harms way on the basis of a lie. That must really rankle.

Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens) is a legend. He is officially on the no fly list of the U.S. since the infamous barring of a couple years ago. Now let us focus on Iran.
Ahmedinejad is no saint either and neither is that grip locked regime of the Ayatullah al udhmas'. The treatment of minorities, e.g., sunnis and other refugees are horrendous and almost negligible in the media.
The neo-Safawi dynasty has it coming. They are trying to mimick regimes of the past along with curtailing delusional thinking (such as being an independent Islamic regime with military might and having the Mahdi's backing).
Their banking system is in line with usurious system, e.g., paper money. This pseudo facade is not fooling those that are aware of Islamic jurisprudence, culture, and history of Islamic monetary systems.
Everyone who oppresses at the end will get oppressed in one shape, form, or fashion. This is a universal karma that one cannot rid oneself of.

Kiwisteve,
Just because I am opposed to the hypocrisy of the regime doesn't equate with "Faux News". Sorry to burst your bubble.
What do you know of Iran, history, culture, language, people there? Have you visited Iran?
Do you know the situation of the Afghan refugees there? Have you talked to them?
Do you know of the state of the Iranian sunnis and the other minorities e.g., Baluchis there?
Rather you pasted an MSM article about minorities whom I was not referring to. It is funny and quiet misinformed on your part to paste the article of the Jewish minority in Iran. This will actually work against you because according to Islamic eschatology, approximately 70,000 Jews in Isfahan will be on the side of the Antichrist.

Rockets and Bombs in the Persian Gulf
I’d like to talk a little about the “WAR” we had in the Persian Gulf. Remember that? The big war in the Persian Gulf? Lemme tell you what was goin’ on.
Naturally, you can forget all that entertaining fiction about having to defend the model democracy those lucky Kuwaitis get to live under. And for the moment you can also put aside the very real, periodic need Americans have for testing their new weapons on human flesh. And also, just for the fun of it, let’s ignore George Bush’s obligation to protect the oil interests of his family and friends. There was another, much more important, consideration at work. Here’s what really happened.
Dropping a Load for Uncle Sam
The simple fact is that America was long overdue to drop high explosives on helpless civilians; people who have no arguments with us whatsoever. After all, it had been awhile, and the hunger gnaws. Remember that’s our specialty: picking on countries that have marginally effective air forces. Afghanistan and Iraq is another more recent example.
Surfing Unnecessary
But all that aside, let me tell you what I liked about that Gulf War: it was the first war that appeared on every television channel, including cable. And even though the TV show consisted largely of Pentagon war criminals displaying maps and charts, it got very good ratings. And that make sense, because we like war. We’re a warlike people. We can’t stand not to be F***** with someone. We couldn’t wait for the Cold War to end so we could climb into the big Arab sandbox and play with our nice new toys. WE enjoy war.
And one reason we enjoy it is that we’re good at it. You know why we’re good at it? Because we get a lot of practice. This country is only 200 years old and already we’ve had ten major wars. We average a major war every twenty years. So we’re good at it!
And it’s just as well we are, because we’re not very good at any thing else. Can’t build a decent car anymore. Can’t make a TV set a cell phone, or a VCR. Got no steel industry left. No textiles. Can’t educate our young people. Can’t get health care to old people. But we can bomb the s**t outta your country, all right. We can bomb the s**t outta your country!
If You’re Brown, You’re Going Down
Especially if your country is full of brown people. Oh, we like that, don’t we? That’s our hobby now. But it’s also our new job in the world: bombing brown people. Iraq, Panama, Grenada, Afghanistan, Pakistan & Libya. You got some brown people in your country? Tell ‘em to watch the F*** out, or we’ll Goddamn bomb them!
Well, who were the last white people you can remember that we bombed? In fact, can you remember any white people we ever bombed? The Germans! That’s it! Those are the only ones. And that was only because they were tryin’ to cut in our action. They wanted to dominate the world. Bulls**t! That’s our job. That’s our F***** job.
But the German are ancient history. These days we only bomb brown people. And not because they’re cutting in on our action; we do it because they’re brown. Even those Serbs we bombed in Yugoslavia aren’t really white, are they? Naaah they’re sort of down near the swarthy end of the white spectrum. Just brown enough to bomb. I’m still waiting for the day we bomb the English. People who really deserve it.
A Disobedient American
Now, you folks might’ve noticed, I don’t feel about that Gulf War the way we were instructed to feel about it by the United States government. My mind doesn’t work that way. You see, I’ve got this real moron thing I do; it’s called “thinking”. And I guess I’m not a very good American, because I like to form my own opinions; I don’t just roll over when I’m told. Most Americans roll over on command. Not me. There are certain rules I observe.
Believe You Me
My first rule: Never believe anything anyone in authority says. None of them. Government, Police, Clergy, the Corporate Criminals, None of them. And neither do I believe anything I’m told my the media, who, in the case of the Gulf War, functioned as little more than unpaid employees of the Defense Department, and who, most of the time, operate as an unofficial public relations agency for government and industry.
I don’t believe in any of them. And I have to tell you, folks, I don’t really believe very much in my country either. I don’t get all choked up about yellow ribbons and American flags. I see them as symbols, and I leave them to the symbol-minded.
