Obama Announces Pay Freeze and New White House Rules:

amazed!
That one helluva way to start! I must say that I never thought I would ever hear a sitting president make such comments. It warms my heart. Hoping that actions speak louder than words, we will see what the future holds.

His comments about the FOIA compliance are a long time coming. cheers.gif

Wow! This is great news for the 9/11 Truth Movement. That is,if it is true. When he says all of this about the FOIA reguests, is he just speaking from the "from now on" point of view? Or, does it include past administrations? Whichever one, time will tell. Actions definitely speak louder than words here.

While this is the right direction, he still has to earn my respect. Words are empty; actions reveal the true man. I say give him 1 year, or even more, then ask me what I think! whistle.gif

I'm sceptical for obvious reasons, but yes, it's encouraging.

A former NSA intelligence analyst has come out, saying the NSA was spying on anyone and everyone, and targeted journalists. Apparently he was waiting till Bush was out of the White House to blow the whistle. Let's hope more people follow his lead thumbsup.gif

On the eve of Barack Obama's inauguration more than 50 celebrities have teamed up on MySpace to record videos making a "pledge of service" to the next president of the United States.

Among the celebrities who recorded videos for The Presidential Pledge project, sponsored by MySpace and actor Ashton Kutcher's Katalyst Media, are singers Sean P. "Diddy" Combs and actresses Cameron Diaz and Eva Longoria.

Others making pledges include Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas, Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, actresses Marissa Tomei, Courtney Cox Arquette, Lucy Lui and Laura Linney and actors Jason Bateman and Tobey Maguire.

The videos, which are available at myspace.com/presidentialpledge, were directed, produced and edited by Kutcher's wife, actress Demi Moore.

Viewers are also invited to record their own personal pledge and upload it to the site.

"The ultimate goal is to motivate the MySpace community to create their own pledges to help bring about the change inspired by Obama's Campaign," MySpace said in a statement.

"The Presidential Pledge is a platform for people across the nation and throughout the world to make a first person commitment of service to our new President, articulating a specific intent or action to become an agent of positive change," said Kutcher.

Among the pledges is Combs's commitment to "turn the lights off," "Desperate Housewives" star Longoria's promise to "plant 500 trees." "Friends" star Cox Arquette for her part pledges to "help end hunger in America."

I have to laugh when I see the way Hollywood is manipulated by these same people. I'm wondering when Hollywood will also wakeup to see how they're being used to manipulate others?

Sorry, I watch a few shows, but I most certainly don't revere these people. They're simply overpaid actors. They're by no means role models, or someone you should follow.

America - you need to learn to use your brain, that's why you have one. These days you must question everything and allow no one to lead you around by the nose. People must earn your respect. They must prove to you they're worthy of your respect, including Obama (he hasn't even come close to proving himself).

I find it scary and crazy that people would follow Obama without having a reason to. Have you seen what he's going to do to your country yet? Have you listened to his words? Have you read what his plans are? If you have done none of this, then giving your full and total loyalty to this man is insanity, and very dangerous, especially after what we have seen come out of the Bush admin. Time to clue in people, or you will be blindsided.

OBAMA HAS A LOT OF PROVING TO ME THAT HE'S FOR REAL AND WILL PRESERVE OUR AMERICAN TRADITIONS BECAUSE HE'S TALKING OUT OF BOTH SIDES OF HIS MOUTH RIGHT NOW! YOU WOULD BE WISE TO UNDERSTAND THIS!

TIP: Everyone should get a copy of the Constitution and read it, and when you see news stories on tv about how certain parts are being attacked, understand what this means. This is happening left and right and this is a threat to our American way of life. YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND THIS, AND STOP GIVING LOYALTY TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT EARNED IT.

The MySpace cul-de-sac that I inhabit is completely different from this. My friends list is almost exclusively truthers and harsh criticism of all things Obama has been going on for months. I actually learn a lot there.

MySpace hates this, and sometimes tries to disrupt the conversations. On occasion people are blocked from posting antibama stuff, and even have their pages deleted.

The new emperor has no clothes, of course. But as always, the establishment tries to mask the fact.

Interesting... and i must say.. promising.

But as the old saying goes.. actions speak louder than words.....

If Obama is true to his words of "transparency"... its time for another information campaign, but this time directly to the top... letters, emails, phone calls...

I'll start working on it...

Yes I do have to agree it was a really good start. Then again though I do remain a sort of radical type personality. The guy who wants to ride the Apocalyptic horse and all. We all got something today. We won't tortue. We will close Gitmo. I did not hear news of Bush/Cheney arrest warrants though.
But hey, you got other great news right? WMDs, words of mass diversion.
And just this minute Obama is right now speaking and he spoke about Al-cia-duh and how "they" have not created another 911.
This is highly in contrast to before the takeover of the BBC and their once wonderful documentary entitled The Power of Nightmares.

Really folks, meet the new boss, same as he old boss.
Mind you the number of key cabinet positions and advisors with solid globalist CFR and most other globalist oriented ties. Strangely these words stick in my head for some strange and paranormal reason.

I will failthfully EXECUTE the OFFICE of the President of the United States".

wow..I am pretty damn impressed! This man seems to have really been listening to what people REALLY want. I could tell that he was just as sickened by what X Bush did to this country. For once, it appears that a president really cares about what WE want...and that includes openness and honesty. Lets just see if he follows through with this. I have a feeling that hes going to do a good job..I dont want to get too ahead of myself but one can only hope.

Yeah- Time will tell.
Incidentally- this is what Wikipedia says about the new Attorney General:

QUOTE
Nomination for the office of Attorney General
In late 2007, Holder joined then-United States Senator Barack Obama's presidential campaign as a senior legal advisor. He served on Obama's vice presidential selection committee.[8]

Holder favors closing the Guantanamo Bay detention camp,[23] although he has said that the detainees are not technically entitled to Geneva convention protections.[24] He is opposed to the Bush administration's implementation of the Patriot Act, saying it is "bad ultimately for law enforcement and will cost us the support of the American people."[25][26] He has been critical of US torture policy and the NSA warrantless surveillance program, accusing the Bush administration of a "disrespect for the rule of law... [that is] not only wrong, it is destructive in our struggle against terrorism."[27]

On December 1, 2008, Obama announced that Holder would be his nominee for Attorney General.[28][29] If the Senate confirms him, he will be the first African-American Attorney General.

During his confirmation hearings in the Senate, Holder agreed with Senator Patrick Leahy, Democrat of Vermont, that a technique used by U.S. interrogators under the Bush administration known as waterboarding was torture.[30] The remark spawned controversy, with some conservative pundits and bloggers expressing horror and outrage at Holder's stance.[31] At the other end of the spectrum, left-leaning law professor Jonathan Turley claimed that Holder's statement fell short of being an acceptable denouncement and refusal of the Bush administration's interrogation policies.[32]

The people are into Obama so much because they are starved for leadership. They are starved for decency and truth.

For 8 years they have been insulted while the Constitution has been assaulted. They have been lied to, and many of us are smart enough to have known it when it was happening. Some just found out lately.

Obama is a major fresh breeze, and 3 days into it, THIS white boy is diggin' it. cheers.gif

Can't believe some of you are falling for this, it's the old good cop bad cop routine, I for one did not expect a clone of Bush but something "new and improved" to sell to the public, so far many are buying. Today Obama was commenting on the middle east situation, it was all about the terrorists of Hamas and not a word of criticism of Israel, that after all had a right to defend itself...

Obama is a corporate whore and a tool of the Bankers and nothing will change that, what we are seeing here is just window dressing, the agenda remains the same.
André
Well Obama's new ethics rules did not last very long rolleyes.gif

So much for consistency in the application of the executive order on lobbying. Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.) just sent out this statement lifting his hold on Raytheon lobbyist/deputy defense secretary-designate Bill Lynn’s nomination, which the chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee put on yesterday:

“The Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has removed an obstacle to the confirmation of Bill Lynn to be Deputy Secretary of Defense by waiving the provisions of President Obama’s Executive Order on Ethics Commitments that would have precluded Mr. Lynn’s service.

“The Senate Armed Services Committee will continue to insist that Mr. Lynn comply with a strict set of ethics rules that we apply to all nominees, including the requirement to recuse himself, for a period of one year, from any decisions involving his prior employer, unless specifically authorized to participate by an appropriate ethics official. The decision of the Administration to impose an additional set of requirements, and then waive them for this nominee, does not change the standards to which we hold all nominees.

“I support Mr. Lynn’s nomination and look forward to prompt consideration by the Senate.”

Just absolutely craven. Why put this rule out if deputy cabinet secretaries are exempt from it? Appropriately, this release was sent out at 4:46 p.m. on a Friday. Change we can believe in!

I would have to agree with you, Andre on this one! They gave us a totally incompetent Bush to screw up everything, so that we would laud the new saviour, Obama.

Obama will have to prove us wrong on this one, because this is what many believe about him now that we've read his plans for America of total redistribution and a neutering or complete scrapping of our US Constitution. Barack Obama and the UN's Drive for Global Governance:
http://www.americanpolicy.org/un/obama.htm

QUOTE
July 15, 2008

By Tom DeWeese

Senator Barack Obama has introduced a dangerous bill and it’s on the fast track to Senate passage, probably because of his high profile position as the expected Democrat presidential nominee. Obama hasn’t done much legislatively in his freshman Senate term, but this one is very telling about what we can expect from a President Obama.

The bill is the “Global Poverty Act” (S.2433) and is not just a compassionate bit of fluff that Obama dreamed up to help the poor of the world. This bill is directly tied to the United Nations and serves as little more than a shakedown of American taxpayers in a massive wealth redistribution scheme. In fact, if passed, The Global Poverty Act will provide the United Nations with 0.7% of the United States gross national product. Estimates are that it will add up to at least $845 billion of taxpayer money for welfare to third world countries, in addition to the $300 billion Americans spent for the same thing in 2006.

The situation is urgent because the Global Poverty Act has already passed the House of Representatives by a unanimous voice vote on September 25, 2007. The senate version has been passed out of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee by unanimous consent and ready for a full Senate vote.

Of course the United States has had an ongoing program of supplying foreign aid and assistance to the poor for decades. And the U.S. pays most of the bills at the UN for its herd of programs. So what’s new about Obama’s bill, and why is it dangerous?

Some history that led up to the Global Poverty Act. In 1999 and 2000 non-governmental organizations, NGOs held numerous meetings around the world to write what became known as the Charter for Global Democracy. The document was prepared to be a blueprint for achieving global governance. In reality it was a charter for the abolition of individual freedom, national sovereignty and limited government.

The Charter for Global Democracy outlined its goals in 12 detailed “principles:”

· Principle One called for the consolidation of all international agencies under the direct authority of the UN.

· Principle Two called for UN regulation of all transnational corporations and financial institutions, requiring an “international code of conduct” concerning the environment and labor standards.

· Principle Three explored various schemes to create independent revenue sources for the UN – meaning UN taxes including fees on all international monetary transactions, taxes on aircraft flights in the skies, and on shipping fuels, and licensing of what the UN called the “global commons,” meaning use of air, water and natural resources. The Law of the Sea Treaty fits this category.

· Principle Four would restructure the UN by eliminating the veto power and permanent member status on the Security Council. Such a move would almost completely eliminate U.S. influence and power in the world body. In turn Principle Four called for the creation of an “Assembly of the People” which would be populated by hand-picked non-governmental organizations (NGOs) which are nothing more than political groups with their own agendas (the UN calls NGOs “civil society”). Now, the UN says these NGO’s will be the representatives of the “people” and the Assembly of the People will become the new power of the UN.

· Principle Five would authorize a standing UN army.

· Principle six would require UN registration of all arms and the reduction of all national armies “as part of a multinational global security system” under the authority of the UN.

· Principle Seven would require individual and national compliance with all UN “Human rights” treaties and declarations.

· Principle Eight would activate the UN Criminal Court and make it compulsory for all nations -- now achieved.

· Principle Nine called for a new institution to establish economic and environmental security by ensuring “Sustainable Development.”

· Principle Ten would establish an International Environmental Cort

· Principle Eleven demanded an international declaration stating that climate change is an essential global security interest that requires the creation of a “high level action team” to allocate carbon emissions based on equal per-capita rights -- The Kyoto Global Warming Treaty in action.

· Principle Twelve demanded the cancellation of all debt owed by the poorest nations, global poverty reductions and for the “equitable sharing” of global resources, as allocated by the UN -- here is where Obama’s Global Poverty Act comes in.

Specifically, the Charter for Global Democracy was intended to give the UN domain over all of the earth’s land, air and seas. In addition it would give the UN the power to control all natural resources, wild life, and energy sources, even radio waves. Such control would allow the UN to place taxes on everything from development; to fishing; to air travel; to shipping. Anything that could be defined as using the earth’s resources would be subject to UN use-taxes. Coincidentally, all twelve principles came directly from the UN’s Commission on Global Governance.

There was one major problem with the Charter for Global Democracy, at least as far as the UN was concerned. It was too honest and straightforward. Overt action displeases the high-order thinking skills of UN diplomats. The UN likes to keep things fuzzy and gray so as not to scare off the natives. That way there is less chance of screaming headlines of a pending takeover by the UN. So, by the time the UN’s Millennium Summit rolled around in September 2000, things weren’t quite so clear.

At the Summit, attended by literally every head of state and world leader, including then-president Bill Clinton, the name of the Charter had been changed to the Millennium Declaration and the language had been toned down to sound more like suggestions and ideas. Then those “suggestions” were put together in the “Millennium Declaration” in the name of all of the heads of state. No vote or debate was allowed -- just acclamation by world leaders who basically said nothing. And the deed was done. The UN had its marching orders for the new Millennium.

Now the principles were called “Millennium Goals,” and there were eight instead of twelve. Goal 1: Eradicate Extreme Hunger and Poverty; Goal 2: Achieve Universal Primary Education; Goal 3: Promote Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women; Goal 4: Reduce Child Mortality; Goal 5: Improve Maternal Health; Goal 6: Combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other diseases; Goal 7: Ensure Environmental Sustainability; Goal 8: Develop a Global Partnership for Development.

Yes, these are sneaky guys, well trained in the art of saying nothing.
Who could opposes such noble goals? The Millennium Project, which was set up to achieve the “goals” says on its website that it intends to “end poverty by 2015.” A noble goal, indeed. So what happened to the 12 Charter principles? Take a hard look – they are all still there.

Principles One, Two, and Twelve are right there in Goal 8 – to develop a global partnership for development. Now almost every world organization such as the World Bank carries a section on their web sites calling for “Millennium Development Goals” which control international banking and loan policy. They set policy goals for each country and sometimes communities to measure if nations are keeping their promise to implement the Millennium goals.

Principle Seven is clearly Goal 3, the only way to assure Gender Equality is to enforce compliance with UN Human Rights treaties. Principle Eight has already been achieved. Principle Nine is Goal 7. Al Gore is doing his best to enforce Principle Eleven. Global Warming, no matter how well the theory is debunked, just won’t go away because it is one of the Millennium Goals.

And then there is Barack Obama’s Global Poverty Act. Can you see which Principle that is? Of course, Principle 12 and Goal 1. Obama’s bill specifically mentions the Millennium Goals as its guide and the 0.7% of GNP is right out of UN documents. In order to eradicate poverty by 2015, they say, every industrial nation must pony up 0.7% of their GNP to the UN for use in eradicating poverty.

The UN is now becoming an international collection agency, pressing to collect the promises the world leaders made at the Millennium Summit. The UN wants the cash. In 2005 former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan said, “Developed countries that have not already done so should establish timetables to achieve the 0.7% target of gross national income for official development assistance by no later than 2015…”

At the Summit in 2000, the UN set clear goals to establish its power over sovereign nations and to enforce the greatest redistribution of wealth scheme ever perpetrated on the world. Now it has the Criminal Court; Sustainable Development is fast becoming official policy in every corner of the nation—only today we call it “going green;” and there is a full court press on to enforce Global Warming policy, in spite of the fact that there is now much evidence surfacing to debunk the theory.

Clearly, Obama’s bill has been introduced to assure the United States falls in line with the Millennium Declaration and all that it stands for. After all, the UN needs the money to pay for its new found power. Truth, science and American taxpayer interests be hanged. Barack Obama wants to be a “world” leader.

Personally I don't believe Obama has any agenda, only to represent the interests of the real power brokers, so I do not take seriously what he has said in the past or will say in the future, he is an opportunist of the worst kind. I would not be surprised if Guantanamo was left open for him to close it, just for effect.. just look how Israel stopped it's aggression on Gaza just before inauguration, as if they did not want to damage his image.

Obama is nothing more than the poster boy for the NWO, or more precisely the Anglo American Empire and western Banking interests.
I could change my opinion if some real actions were taken, such as prosecution of the criminals of the previous administration, or a massive reduction in military spending and foreign involvement, or a more balanced and less aggressive foreign policy, or the end of the "patriot act" and security measures, or monetary reforms closing down the FED, we know none of these things will happen. So what is their plan when the economy finally hits bottom ?

He is talking about crisis, but his campaign has been financiate also by the international bankers of the fedaral reserve that are responsible for this crisis and for all the past ones and also responsible for the economic enslavement of all the western world
http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/contrib....p;cid=N00009638
The only way to solve the crisis is to give back to the USA the power to print a currency with no debt. But for sure this is not what is going to do.
About transparency, great words, we will see if he will answer to the questions about 9/11, There is no logic in any of the officials stories we heard, from the non existence of any part of any planes anywere and all the rest that I do not want to repeat. I am looking foward like I belive all of you to see this "tranparency" how will work.

Obama begins reversing Bush climate policies
Mon Jan 26, 2009 6:35pm EST

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama began reversing the climate policies of the Bush administration on Monday, clearing the way for new rules to force automakers to produce more fuel-efficient and less polluting cars.

The president told the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to reconsider immediately a request by California to impose its own strict limits on vehicle carbon dioxide emissions, blamed for contributing to global warming

People often do that, not just around here, use a phrase such as "Obama's agenda" as shorthand to communicate what others more or less understand. I don't know what others mean by it, I can only give you my own opinion of what "Obama's agenda" is -

Socialism, collectivism, further nationalization of businesses, more government meddling.

Obama's ideas might sound good to some people, but when you realize that the government doesn't have a magic pile of money - only a printing press - and that to fund these programs he has to take it away from us first - either through taxation, debt, or inflation (the inflating of the money supply), it's not such a great deal after all. People see the pendulum swinging back and forth, from Republican to Democrat, from bad-cop to good-cop, from Bush to Obama ... and don't notice that Obama and Bush have one critical thing in common - they are both promoters of bigger government and debt.

This is classic good-cop/bad-cop. After the abuses and misadventures of the Bush administration, Obama is greeted as a savior - to lead us further toward the goal line.

As the pendulum swings back and forth, it also joggles downward inexorably toward one-world-government, which is what the real owners of this world have had as a goal for at least half a century (in 1950 James Warburg, son of the architect of the Federal Reserve System instructed the US Senate that we were gonna get it whether we like it or not, by "consent or by conquest") ... and one can conclude by looking at the people surrounding Obama that this is really his agenda, whether the new president knows it or not.

Many of the posters here understand this, and (I think) this is roughly what is meant by "Obama's Agenda". At least it is to me.

Hope that helps.

.....................
EDIT: Obama's calls for transparency gave me some hope, and for about half a second I imagined that he might turn out to be another Kennedy - who was in the process of stabbing his masters in the back when he was shot. I think that's a real long shot though. Here's the deal, expect us to come very close to James Warbug's prediction of one-world-government in the next eight years - not by conquest, but by consent - with Obama leading the way and the US populace smiling the whole way - or as Henry Kissinger put it, "demanding it". If the US public could ever just figure out how they are being routinely and eternally manipulated, then we'd have a chance. But that's not gonna happen in my lifetime I don't think.

I don't believe that he knows about this "agenda". Really, I don't. He is of a younger generation. He might be part of the agenda, but I don't for one second believe that he is aware of it. I'm always curious about this "one-world-government" that has been discussed and am not convinced that it exists. If it really does exist, then when will it come to power? Aren't the people who belong to this "Illuminati" already so old that they're almost dead? I just don't get the ongoing theory of the evil group of men who want to rule the entire world.

This is precisely why I shake my head at many of the videos I click links to, why, when I go searching for information and wind up 50% of the time on spooky looking websites with skulls and satanic images and pink and green type on a black background I think to myself, 'the truth will never be understood'.

There may well be a "Luciferic" angle to all this, I really don't know, I try to approach that in a thread I started here titled the "dragon blood line".

But that's all hidden in secrecy, there's only so much that can be inferred, and you don't even have to sign up with that crowd to understand, empirically, that the ultimate goal of the people running things is central control at the international level. I can hear the gears in your head churning - WHO??? Well, without naming names, it is the major stockholders of the world's central banks, the steering committee of the Bilderberg Group, the top directors of the Peter G. Peterson Institute for International Economics - look it up, look at who the top directors are there. I could add the leadership of the Council on Foreign Relations or the Trilateral Commission, but it would be superfluous, they are mostly the same people. Those are among the "who". The Rothschilds are arguably also high up, because they are richer than any of them and they put the system in place - but you won't find their names on any lists anywhere. They remain behind the curtain behind the curtain, so to speak.

As for this "One World Government" idea, you can see it happening, incrementally, in the real world if you look. I notice here in Japan that there is a bias against physical tickets in favor of "cards" to board the trains - less and less turnstiles accept physical tickets. I refuse to use the cards, and so I have to wait in long lines to get out of the train station. You can ride the freeways here cheaper if you get a GPS chip installed in your car. I could go on and on - the goal is central control, in a cashless society (it's impossible to keep tabs on everything that's going on when people use physical money - digital money can easily be tracked - that's why things are going in this direction). I mentioned James Warburg's confession to the US Senate in 1950, here is a link to the quote -

You can google it and find it anywhere - he really said it. His father was Paul Warburg, who was a central player in the setting up of the Federal Reserve system.

Aren't the people who belong to this "Illuminati" already so old that they're almost dead?

First of all, I avoid using the word "Illuminati", it's a word people use, clumsily, to describe a secretive cabal. There might be good reason to call it that, but it backfires and enables anyone who talks about secretive sects to be branded as a nut-job. There really was a sect called the Illuminati, which is probably connected to the people running things now - but the term has been turned against anyone trying to find out anything.

As for "them" being "dead", the families that run things are incredibly intermarried, and the "goal" appears to live on from generation to generation. Like I said, the idea of a one-world-government was expressed over 50 years ago, by the son of the architect of the Federal Reserve System nonetheless.

I believe the "spooky" aspect of it all is enchouraged, it helps convince rational people that it's all a bunch of hooey. But it's real.

Thank you so much, Sanders. I appreciate your detailed response, and for once it is presented without all the satanic images and darkness. It's easier to understand and believe when this kind of info is presented in a rational way. So I thank you for that.

P.S. I've never heard of the Peter G. Peterson Institute for International Economics until now. Their website is full of information.

Obama's take on transparency and access not beyond reproach

Keywords: Obama Administration; White House

"President Obama won widespread praise in his first week office among open-government advocates for issuing a memo reaffirming a commitment to FOIA.

But he also drew criticism over access and transparency after photojournalists were not permitted to take the traditional first pictures of the new president sitting in the Oval Office. The outcry grew when the only still cameraman allowed to attend Obama's do-over of the oath of office that night was White House photographer Pete Souza; four reporters were on hand.

In protest, The Associated Press, Reuters and Agence France-Presse announced they would not distribute the official photos of the oath or of Obama sitting at his new desk, which The AP called “visual press releases.” The wire service also reported its editors were displeased that administration officials would not allow reporters to use their names during a background briefing on Guantanamo Bay.
