i think these electric smart meters are a fire hazard because they don't even tell you if you are using electricity on the digital readout.

The analog meters tell you if the current is moving, if the disk is spinning.

Here in Mission BC (near Vancouver) smart meter explodes and the power company blames the owner, I live in a house close by in Coquitlam BC, I came home 2 days ago to find a notice on my front door informing me a new smart meter was just installed. I will be moving by months end.

Wrap it in tinfoil and stuff it with un-popped popcorn kernels.
Then video tape the meter reader as he tears off the tinfoil spraying the popcorn everywhere. (i don't think the popcorn will actually pop)
But it sure would make for a great candid video.

They have the smart meters installed almost everywhere now.
It's world wide.
